I thought this was outrageous until eye witnesses said they were chanting Death to Arabs. What lovely children they are. Who is teaching them to chant that?

It was probably for the best then.

Barry has made an unfounded allegation Mock

He has been asked to substantiate it and he has disappeared from his own thread

Hopefully he is off gathering evidence

But its a slim hope

I have now, my apologies.

So is there proof of these kids tampering with equipment?

I trust that Barry wasn't being malicious with this thread.

My advice to him though is be careful using Twitter as a source, as political extremists are everywhere on that platform.

I don't think Barry was being malicious either.

Yeah I wasn’t, thanks Mystic and Liv for seeing that.

Yeah lol I’ll have a look at the source before I post the news

Sounds like click bait to get people raging and foaming at the mouth. Shocker

God I hate the way the internet thinks sometimes. I search for myself and this comes up... according to AI (because I don't really care that much to personally verify atm its 1am...), this is trueish... but he didn't know about who he was training

It could be one of those funny coincidences that will get abused and made out to be something it isn't... but the info itself is interesting. If true.. I don't consider AI to be 100% confirmative... but hold on, wait...

Ok, verified...

…the OP source seems to be the Telegraph, which is a particularly awful clickbait media…maybe because it’s a paid for thing that it sensationalises its headlines more to try to draw those subscribers in…?…it sensationalises to the point of inaccuracy, though…anyway, @Barry. isn’t someone who tends to make any clickbait type threads or shows anything other than balance of thought to any topic but ‘fake divisive news’ is so commonplace and so persistent, sadly…

I don't think Barry meant offense at all. The media omits so many things these days for whatever purpose it think it suits that checking X for emerging facts to current news is reasonable. It's just social media is hyperactive and anything seen there needs some time to be verified. I always wait a bit for the picture to become more clear.

….there is still a lot of questions to this story for sure and in terms of the airline themselves and their statement already made, which doesn’t seem to address why children still appear to be not completing their flight destination/their homes…so far as I’m aware from reports, they’re still in Valencia and not yet flown back to France…

Ammi 26-07-2025 06:49 AM

…I have to say that some of the comments around the articles are quite awful as well …50 children aged from 10-15yrs coming home from a summer camp…?…of course they’re most likely in high spirits and elevated for their journey home to their families and bursting to tell them all about their summertime…if any of the other passengers were finding that disruptive then their criticism is of the airline because they accepted that booking and accepted that payment from that school for those 50 students…any ‘disruption’ is down to them and their responsibility alone and doesn’t lie with the students…

one AI - Microsoft Copilot uses actual proper sourced information to answer your questions, but this particular AI has its own personality, also has own rules of no hate speech

i can't know about all AI platforms out there but this one i happen to know (it'll only resort to speculation if you ask it to)

Oh no I’m talking about the media, not Barry. It’s 1000% being used to fuel the rage between the whole Isreal/Palestine war.

But Barry posted the telegraph link in the op, Which as you said is a paid link..one that lets you read the first paragraph but then you have to pay to read on. Barry is Scottish so I'm 100 percent sure he hasn't subscribed to the telegraph. So he basically seen something on Twitter, then searched for the story and posted the half story telegraph link, with the thread title being made up with the Twitter untruth...I know you have me blocked l, I know you will never respond directly, but c'mon.. Barry ain't daft. He only posted to call out people.

And it's about time you stood up to that.

Barry doesn't engage in that kind of behavior. They don't post much to begin with in SD and it's risking driving someone off for just sharing something they saw on the internet and reacting to it without verifying. Something all of us have done at some point.

As for whether the article is paid or not (I haven't checked), it's not exactly uncommon for people to link potential sources without reading it first lol.

Last thing I would ever want is for someone to go because they feel driven off,

But your explanation and excuse of Barry's actions make my feelings feel stronger about the motives of the OP. You said he hardly posts in SD, yet couldn't get in quick enough to post this bulllshit once he saw a twitter post.

He's apologised in a way though, and that should be enough for everyone. Like it is me.

Just wanted to air my opinion on the whole thing.

I mean, you can still ask him why he posted a paid link. That's not going to hurt feelings. I don't think he is a heavy newsreader. Younger people don't tend to read the media like us old farts do, they get their information from what comes up on social now... and it's mostly designed around getting people to react and engage with it. Scary, I know.

EDIT: Just checked on Desktop. The Telegraph article in the OP isn't paid access.

Cherie 26-07-2025 05:04 PM

If its any consolation Baz, we have all posted stuff that turned out not to be true, so don't beat yourself up about it
