So much on TV about this, yes it's sad and a massive tragedy but srsly, get off my tv

Maybe I'm incredibly hard hearted but lots of people die en massse (and have done many times since)- I don't see the point in dredging it up - on both counts.

I understand why it was such a disaster and the background as to the causes and the unecessity of such loss of lives but I have to say: I'm on complete overload with it all.

It happened, it was tragic and yes, it's a 100 year anniversary - but come on to hell................................. plus, it's another reason to show that awful movie Titanic. Got to be one of the most overated movies ever - and rubbish.

I don't think anyone would really care about it if it weren't for the movie. Look at that Italian cruiseliner earlier this year - quite a few people died (of course, nowhere near the magnitude of the Titanic) but it's all but forgotten about

I feel sad for Rose and Jack don't really care about anyone else that died though

I'm not so sure - it was the complete money grabbing mentality of the owners, short cuts, lies & failure to comply with the updated rules/regs that were told that made it history - and the fact that it was meant to be unsinkable with the best equipment available at the time on it's maiden voyage - all that roped together gave it it's place in history. But enough!!!

I remember when I was a little kid seeing an old black and white film one Sunday afternoon, I think it was called A Night To Remember, about the Titanic. My Dad said they'd have to get away from the ship or it'd drag them under when it went down. I had bloody nightmares for ages where I was trying to scramble up onto an iceberg while this big shadowy ship behind me dragged me under the water. Only film that's ever given me nightmares. Thanks Dad...
