Not sure how popular these are, but they're called Foals.

Damaris 01-12-2009 04:29 PM

I love Folas.

They are really popular and well known though lol.

King Gizzard 01-12-2009 04:39 PM

yeah foals had a massive following by indie kids summer of 2008 going into 2009 lol

I love their music, but they are terrible live

Deirdre 01-12-2009 04:51 PM

Oh I didn't know how popular they were! lol

Deirdre 01-12-2009 04:59 PM

Ah this girl isn't well known, Daisy Dares You. She's only 15 and from Essex. Hopefully she'll break through when she releases her debut single, Number 1 Enemy in February. Definitely worth a listen.

A band I have been listening to recently is Elbow. It is the band nobody had heard of that won loads of awards this year. I came across them on BBC 6 Music one night.

Station Approach

Elbow have been pretty massive since winning the mercury award in 2008. Good on them too, they were around for years but could never get commercial success.

pinkmichk 01-12-2009 05:05 PM

Bobby Long he is mostly known by association cos he friends with a certain mr pattinson and co-wrote with rob one of the songs on twilight soundtrack but he deserves a lot of credit on his voice which is beautiful rather than who his mate is i was lucky enough to see him perform in london in october

Ramsay 01-12-2009 05:07 PM

heard about her awhile ago, some of her stuff is really great.

anyway - Marina and the Diamonds. [it's just Marina really, the 'diamonds' are her fans.] She's beginning to gain popularity now, but I discovered her months ago. I think she's going to be big next year, I imagine she'll have some success off the back of 'Sound of 2010' type lists for which she is a shoe in.

my favourites of hers, Obsessions:

Ellie Goulding is getting pretty well known lately. In case you haven't heard of her, have a listen. I think she's very good.

I love these guys so much! I met David (lead singer) after they supported Hey Monday in September and he's lovely. :')

Four Year Strong

Pop punk mixed with a bit of metal, and they don't look like your average ******-looking pop punk band (all time low you me at six etc)

Enid 01-12-2009 06:34 PM

You might like Rasputin, Nate. Japanese pop-punk band.
