I haven't trawled the net nor Youtube.com to draw my conclusions. I just know what the X-Factor judges are looking for and it's not Diana. Please don't get fooled by the volumes of people who watch Diana sing on Youtube.com. That means nothing. Except people may enjoy a particular song she's sung, which is understandable.
Simon said before this show started he wanted something original and fresh, Diana is, by x factor standards original and fresh.

She appeals to everyone, which is how I think she is going to get through to the final with more performances like that. It's not like she just appeals to a certain demographic she appeals to Older people, aswell as younger and different genders etc.
In XF terms there have been a lot of original acts before her. G4 are a prime example.

ss00 19-10-2008 01:42 PM

I don't really care if she will win or not. I just want her to make an album coz I would buy it.

Annie 19-10-2008 01:51 PM

I think she has a fantastic voice. She is so fresh and new to the world of X Factor and I think she is going to go a long way. If she doesn't win X Factor - she will be doing something in her life with singing cos she is amazing.
Last night she proved she could belt out a song and give it power. And she is singing from her diaphram not her nose as if she was singing from her nose she would have not been able to do that. And she is most definately not putting that on cos you cant belt a song and fake it.

James 20-10-2008 12:43 AM

To be honest, I thought it was a bit 'emperor's new clothes' really. She okay but doesn't have the strongest singing voice and has popularity that seems to be based on a 'quirky' image, in my opinion. :conf2:

Dont get it twisted, I personally think she is OK, not very good or star material, but I have no doubt, she ll be in the Xfactor final!

Her hype will assure her a place even if she suckks!
So I think she'll be either the winner or the runner up, and she will definitely have a recording contract.

xDramatick 20-10-2008 07:59 AM

I love Diana. She's unique to the X-Factor [there's never been an act like her] and there is space for her in the music industry [unlike some of the others]. She proves you don't need to be able to belt out songs like Whitney or do annoying Ad-Libs by imitating current divas to be talented. I could sit and listen to her sing for hours.

However. I don't want her to win. Simon would ruin her like he has with previous winners with bland generated pop music without any of the artists creative input just to please the radio/public rather than creating good, unique music that suits the artist. Don't get me wrong, I'd like her to win because that'd be a fantastic turn for the XF; a winner who isn't constantly compared to other artists, but I fear for the music she'd produce.

I have watched every X-Factor and I see a very convincing pattern. I doubt very much that Diana comes anywhere close to that pattern. I do not disagree that she has an almost unique voice, but we may see her mess up next Saturday's song and that could change everything.

"Simon said she was the one to beat and all the judges love her sooooooo your point?...oh not to mention the public vote"
How many times have you seen Simon praise someone then 7 days later, he changes his mind?
Id like to know what your convincing pattern is but I suspect its just actually your opinion!
Well Ive also watched every X factor and dont see anything changing soon! but sorry your the all "knowing" one:rolleyes:

Diana is easily the best there but i see why people say about her .. she still shud win it

I agree about the Laura stuff. Laura is so bland (there are already so many artists out there that sound like her, only, better.)

I love Diana's voice, I do agree there are artists out there which sound like her, but it would be good to see somebody win this year that sounds different from the rest and for the fact so few artists with that type of voice actually make it big in the music industry.

Diana doesn't have the purity of tone that Norah Jones possesses. Diana has quite a contrived voice and I've yet to see her inject any power into her voice. I think she grew up imitating singers like Norah Jones and Eva Cassidy but Diana simply isn’t in the same league.

I think she's trying too hard to stand out - what's with performing barefoot - I thinks she's a decent singer who has good influences but I don’t think she's talented enough to have any kind of long term career in the music business.

oh I think the opposite in the pop world she'll do well shes a watered down version of good artists...look at mcfly, lily allen, kate nash and the like, she could do aswell as them. anyway she reminds me more of modern english folk singers than the norah jones's

They all write their own songs. Does she write her own songs? Does she play an instrument? I haven't seen her so far.

I think she might surprise you, she has one natural ability, she makes love to the cameras with her eyes in the most seductive way. It makes her a natural for the video channels which are going to love to have her on screen seducing the audience which would give her the exposure she needs to make it.

Yes, I was worried that her voice lacked power during the first week, but after the performance this week where she did show she is capable of putting more power into her voice. I do wonder if her lack of power has more to do with nerves rather than it not being there at all. I guess time will tell on that one.

One thing is for sure she is different and that is refreshing and it makes a change from the standard female diva's then show is renowned for with their strong belt it out at all cost voices.

So who's going to write the songs? Do you think professional song writers will write songs for her as opposed to say Kylie or Girls Aloud? I can see her doing albums of haunting i.e. boring cover versions and that’s all.

Did the professional songwriters write songs for Ben Mills? He was unique and quirky. Pro songwriters want BIG millions selling artists to write for. She will never be big enough for them. Thats why I keep asking if she can write her own material. If she can then she has a future. If she cant then I dont see much future for her.

OK I think we'll have to disagree on this one.

whos Ben Mills?and like I say I disagree I think she could be big in the pop world because she is different, but not just that, she has the X factor like Red moon says shes very seductive on camera, shes the full pop package and she already has a lot of fans, more than the others. Its not just about being quirky. But anyway yeh stalemate haha (and thats just a chess metaphor not an insult)

Ben Mills was the bloke who sang like Joe Cocker who was going to win X-Factor three. He came third as I recall.

I cant stand her constant mugging of the camera. I find it a bit off putting. It detracts from her vocals.

I think she's a good singer but I don’t see any future for her unless she write her own songs.

OK I think we'll have to disagree on this one.

Diana's voice is so annoying - I can't listen to her.

Laura & Rachel have the strongest voices.
