Madonna, Old news really. She is great, but acts way too young for her age. She needs to let naure take over her, and be like a real 50 year old woman, not dressing half naked and flirting wih 20 year old boys in vdeo's. But i still love he music ;)

Star begins an appeal

http://www.watoday.com.au/world/star...0404-9sgk.html

MADONNA has filed a notice to appeal against a failed bid to adopt a second child from Malawi, after the country's High Court warned that the case could open the door to trafficking in children.

Hearings on the appeal are expected to start this week after the court on Friday turned down the US singer's request to adopt a three-year-old girl who would have become a sibling to another adopted Malawian toddler.

The appeal notice was filed after Madonna, 50, was briefed about the outcome of the adoption application.

Madonna did not attend the earlier closed court hearing, where Judge Esmie Chondo addressed concerns among rights groups that Malawi's courts could inadvertently expose the nation's children to the threat of human traffickers.

"I must confess that there's a gripping temptation to throw caution to the wind and grant an adoption in the hope that there will be a difference in the life of just one child," Judge Chondo said.

"By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children, the courts by their pronouncements could actually facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals."

The recently divorced singer and actress arrived in the southern African state last week, with daughter Lourdes, 12, and Banda, 3, whom she adopted in 2006 after seeing him in a Malawian orphanage.

Madonna parties in Malawi

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20090404...i-5f8abb3.html

Madonna is apparently throwing a party in Malawi in a bid to swallow her disappointment that a judge rejected her application to adopt a young orphan.

Traditional dancers have arrived at the luxury lodge where the pop diva is staying, as well as government officials and members of staff of her Raising Malawi charity.

Amid strict security, there was no immediate confirmation on whether it was a farewell party.

Air traffic control authorities have granted clearance for Madonna's jet to depart but the star stayed in the lodge all day.

Her lawyer has said she will appeal against Friday's judgment that she could not adopt a three-year-old girl because she had not been resident in Malawi.

Star Madonna flies out of Malawi

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/image...na1_bodyap.jpg

US pop star Madonna has left Malawi on a private jet after failing to adopt a second child from the country.

Last week a Malawian court rejected the adoption over residency rules but the singer's lawyer has said that she will appeal against the ruling.

The 50-year-old singer applied to adopt Chifundo James, whose name translates into English as Mercy, on Monday.

Chifundo is in the same orphanage that previously housed David Banda, Madonna's first adopted child.

Had her application been successful, Chifundo would have been a sister to David and her biological children Lourdes and Rocco.

Madonna's application was rejected because of a requirement that prospective parents be resident in the southern African state for 18 to 24 months.

No date has been set for a court hearing to appeal against the judge's ruling.

Kid that Madonna couldn't adopt cries for her

London (IANS): The baby who pop star Madonna had hoped to adopt cried all night as she was sent back to the orphanage. "Where's my mummy?" she asked.

The baby Mercy James was surprised as Madonna had to leave Malawi after her adoption bid was turned down, the sun.co.uk reports.

The boss of the orphanage Annie Chikhwaza said: "It's devastating for Mercy. She had bonded with her new family and was calling for Madonna, saying, 'Where is my Mummy?' She couldn't understand where Lola, David and Rocco had gone - she thought they were playing hide and seek. It broke my heart to see her crying out for David as they'd become inseparable. Madonna said she will do whatever it takes to get her back."

A source from the luxury lodge where Madonna stayed said: "Madonna was up at dawn cradling Mercy, gently soothing her and making her laugh. You could see how upset she was when she had to say goodbye. She could barely wrench herself away."

Madonna donates 'substantial sum' to earthquake victims

http://www.nme.com/news/madonna/43940

Her grandparents lived in the city hit by tremor.

Madonna has reportedly made a “substantial donation” to victims of Monday’s earthquake in Italy.

The Material Girl, who is of Italian heritage, apparently donated around half a million dollars to the appeal, as her grandparents lived in the hamlet of Pacentro until 1919.

Pacentro’s mayor appealed to Madonna personally for help after more than 200 people died in the devastating quake in the Abruzzo region of Italy.

"I am happy to lend a helping hand to the town that my ancestors are from," she told People.com. "My heart goes out to the families that have lost loved ones or their homes."

The singer was last week denied permission to adopt a four-year-old girl from Malawi.

Borderline is a good song.

When I was in school I chose Media as an option, and in year 11 we had to analyze all of Madonna's albums... some of her first ones were pretty good.

Madonna, Ritchie in 'tearful conversation'

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...versation.html

Madonna and ex-husband Guy Ritchie shared a tearful telephone conversation after the singer's bid to adopt a second child from Malawi was denied last week, it has been claimed.

The couple's child Rocco was speaking to Madonna on the phone before he passed the handset to Ritchie when the singer - known to pals as Em - burst into tears, The Sun reports.

An insider said: "Rocco was speaking to her and suddenly turned to Guy and said, 'Daddy, Daddy. Mummy is crying.' He then handed Guy the phone.

"It's unusual for Em to turn on the waterworks but this has really upset her. Explaining to Rocco why Mercy wasn't coming home has been difficult."

They added: "Guy was incredibly sympathetic, calmed her down and told her to be happy with the family she had."

Ritchie and Madonna are said to have had further conversations regarding the possibility of appealing the decision made by the court in Malawi.

The KC thread gets quite at times, no one is going in at the moment because she isn't doing much, she is preparing for a single release and a tour so not much to report on.
