Exactly :puzzled:

Its not as though he's using it in a racist way and when people use it like he does it means something completely different than if someone was to call it him

Words can have more than 1 meaning ....
Thing is Tom... I'm white.

If I was to sit here and say "Oh yeah my n**** Jerry said the other day..."

ANYONE within audible distance of me, would be on my arse for it!

Her ex bf/current bf at the time was mixed race.

85% of her friends were black/asian.

She said the 'N' word ONCE in the SAME CONTEXT as Cairon has been.

She was a dumb, naive, wigger, blonde if anything. - But she was not racist.

BOSSChick 09-06-2009 01:16 PM

Sooo, lmaoo.
having a mixed bf. or friends from other races doesn't stop you from being ignorant.

she was ignorant.

Ignorant the same way Cairon's being.

Naive as I said.

NEITHER of those words means racist.

So... "lmaoo." at you.

Kore 09-06-2009 01:23 PM

quite right... she may have been ignorant, but wasnt being racist. I think she was wrongly kicked out. But I wasnt bothered as I wasnt a fan of hers anyway. lol

Tom 09-06-2009 01:26 PM

If Emily was black and said the same thing noone would have cared because it was said in a friendly way .........

Charley only acted offended because she knew if Emily got kicked out then her mate would be safe from eviction. Dunno who it was, was it Nicky or that freak who did a dance when she got evicted and Davina had to go up the stairs? A lot cleverer than she makes out

Plus she was fit

I believe equally the same offence is taken by a gay man hearing the word '****' or batty boy, but ive NEVER known Big Brother eject/evict a housemate for using such words.. but have see people evicted for using racist words.. ITS WRONG!

If someone saying the 'N' word is "racist", someone refering to a gay man as a 'batty boy', or 'shirt lifter' is homaphobic..!

UGH !! .. ShutUP ! .. Nothing happened to Prince Harry for saying that .. he's still alive isn't he ?

[b] Cairon shouldn't of used that word; yehhh.

However, he shouldn't be kicked out.

EMILY WAS RACIST. CAIRON IS NOT.

IN AMERICA, THEY UNFORTUNEATELY USE THE WORD ALL THE TIME.

HE IS PRONE TO SAYING IT.

EMILY SAID IT IN AN OFFENSIVE WAY.

on what planet could how Emily used it be deemed as offensive.

supernoodles! 09-06-2009 02:41 PM

I think hm`s should be aloud to say it as long as its not used in a racist way.Cairon probably says it all the time and as long as its not used as an insult I personally think its ok.

Chri$ 09-06-2009 02:44 PM

He can't help it because if he has been living in America all his life then a lot of black people address other people by "Ni**a". Just move on, he might even say it again.

supernoodles! 09-06-2009 02:48 PM

the term racist is starting to bore me,people just use it to freely

haggis 09-06-2009 04:17 PM

emily got booted very quick, he should go to, if he stays... double standards come to mind. just cause he is black dont make it right, i bet if that had been a white contestant they would be out by now. he has got to go

Not hypocritical. She's white. He's black. He can use it. She can't.

If he used the term, pa**, then he would get thrown out. He's not Pakistani.

It's the same with gays using the word, fag. If you're not gay, you cannot use it.

Again, using a slur that is aimed at yourself from people not of your background, is not bigotry. You cannot oppress yourself.

Britain is so backwards, and still does not understand race relations. The country does not understand real racism, from fake racism. The country is 60 years behind.
What a load of crap

Tom4784 09-06-2009 04:21 PM

I really hate that word, it shouldn't be used by no one. I do think that he should be punished as BB in BB8 took a stance against that word and that rule should apply to everyone.

But he's been in the UK for two years. That excuse isn't viable and it's not that good of an excuse to begin with.

Raftangle 09-06-2009 05:04 PM

The thing is he said it and slipped up, im worried they will edit it so it looks as if he was insulting sree even though i know he was saying just in genreal like ma ******, yo ******, that ****** dont no ****. He actually said it then said half then said dude, he realised he slipped up i just hope they dont make it look like he was insulting him.

That is in every sense hypocritical. If you're telling someone that they can't use a word because it's offensive but you use it yourself, that is one of the strongest of hypocritical statements imaginable. I'm gay and I have no problem with straight people using fag, it's a word for God's sake. Either everyone can say something or noöne can. To argue the opposite is a limitation on the freedom of speech to a certain demographic and therefore the discrimination/oppression of which you speak.
