Isnt religion great apparently its caused more wars than anything else.

If only people followed one simple belief, respect others and allow them to live their life the way they want to, so long as it doesnt hurt others.

Religion gives you a belief in something bigger than yourself, this is it's main strength and it's biggest weakness.



If you believe in something higher than humanity, i.e God, you can quite easily set off on a path which, may lead you to the destruction of humanity.

Fair point....but at the same time:

The Muslim conquests, french wars of religion, the crusades and the reconquista are a few historical examples of wars caused by religion.

Thats why I used the word apparently ange7, if you look hard enough into any religious texts you can find excuses to carry out lots of hate filled excesses. However few people look at the basic tenets of all religions and see they also should be practising tolerance and forgiveness. And the person they should be exercising the intolerance of the religious laws are themselves.

All due respect those situations are simular to whats happening in Israel Palestine conflict.

It was more about land than relgion, and those conflicts were caused on Arab land trying to be taken over by foreign factions.
