Glee starts on Monday with a repeat of the pilot at 9pm then the next episode at 10pm (against BB).

Gavin 05-01-2010 09:51 PM

I'm loving this episode of Big Brother... they're showing a lot of Stephen who's clearly the star of the show. I love everything he is about, he's funny, witty, knowledgable and most importantly a devout and proud Christian.

I complained yesterday about the lack of Stephen coverage, but today I'm very happy. Hopefully it gets good ratings today.

Positivity.... FROM GAVIN

That's better than yesterday, so hopefully ratings will be around 3.5m again or even more!

Brekkie 05-01-2010 10:21 PM

Just hope they don't fall into the usual trap of editing the show around one person - tonight was a bit too much of the Stephen Baldwin show really. And certainly hope the seemingly likely prospect of him being nominated doesn't cause the producers to fear the process yet again and ditch the nominations in favour of something else.

Spike 05-01-2010 10:23 PM

I think there were enough people watching TV tonight and it was a good enough highlights show to sustain interest throughout for ratings to be close to 4million

t.i.m.e.a 06-01-2010 08:58 AM

i think last nights ratings will be very low because of the snow, my sky tv stopped working all night and i know a lot of other peoples whos tv didnt work, so i wasnt able to watch when i would of if it wasnt for the snow

Tom 06-01-2010 09:31 AM

2.97m without +1.

It will probably stay about that level

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 09:37 AM

:( Thats not too good.
+1 will bring it to about 3.2m.

I wanted over 3.6m! All the other shows last night did so well :(

Captain.Remy 06-01-2010 09:47 AM

I told you it was going down down. People got hyped way too quickly. It was obvious.

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 09:50 AM

I doubt the +1 will be high seeing as it was 11pm when it was on there.

Im really annoyed. The news got bloody 7.5m viewers last night!

Spike 06-01-2010 10:13 AM

Surprised and diasapointed at those ratings, I thought it would do better than Monday
I really don't know why it did worse, it will be interesting to see how tonight does

Chels 06-01-2010 10:14 AM

tbh i think the news dragged it down a bit because of the snow weather warnings.

yeah this.

Brekkie 06-01-2010 11:44 AM

Would have been nice to see it hold steady, but not surprised at all by those ratings considering what the news got (nearly 11m between BBC and ITV, compared to around 8m usually).

And frankly, if you'd offered them 3m before Sunday night, they'd have taken it.

Brad. 06-01-2010 11:46 AM

Still not bad ratings tbh. The goal is a 3m average for this series, so we can hope for that.

biglover 06-01-2010 02:28 PM

with channel 4 +1 it will be about 3.2 million which is still an improvement on CBB6 and BB10

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 02:57 PM

They still have not posted the +1.
I reckon it will be 3.2m with +1 and about 3.5-3.6m in the officials... which is higher than CBB6 and BB10, and equal to BB9 average.

All is still good.

Jords 06-01-2010 03:41 PM

Hmm, its still ok.

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 03:42 PM

The target for the series should be to beat BB10 and CBB6. So to get 3.3m+.

Looks good for now, as 2.4m was the OFFICIAL average for BB10 and 3.3m was th OFFICIAL average for CBB6.
Basically the officials of last nights show will be about 3.5m which is good!

Basically the show will be considered a hit if it beats last years summer and celeb series.
Officials normally add around 300,000 onto overnights.

So if every show gets 3m WITH +1, we can beat the CBB6's offical of 3.3m.

Jack_ 06-01-2010 03:44 PM

I was expecting it to be low because of the snow, so I'm not surprised. It's still not awful, though.

Billy 06-01-2010 03:55 PM

3.0 isn't too bad, esp with +1 etc.

Brekkie 06-01-2010 03:55 PM

OK, any good work done this week will be hampered by the scheduling for the next two weeks.

We begin this week with a later but consistent 10pm slot, until Friday when as expected the eviction show is 9pm and 10.35pm.

And then it goes all over the place. Saturday and Sunday is 9pm (fair enough, the usual weekend slots), Monday it's back to 10pm, Tuesday 9pm, Wednesday 8pm, Thursday 10pm, then 9pm and 10.35pm on Friday.

Then the next week it's Saturday 9pm, Sunday 8pm, Monday 8pm and 10.20pm (60 and 30 minute shows, presumably an eviction), Tuesday 10pm, Wednesday 10.20pm, Thursday 10pm and Friday back to 9pm and 10.35pm.

So even if it gets off to a good start, like last year C4 are then sacrificing viewers by not giving it any kind of consistency.

Next week with Tuesday at 9pm they can just get away with, everyone knows BB is on at 9pm or 10pm. Wednesday at 8pm is daft but unavoidable due to Slumdog Millionaire but they should have put it at 10.20pm and ran the film an hour earlier, at least with a 10.20pm slot theres some degree of consistency. But the daft thing is, they're repeating the film on Sunday 17th and BB gets bumped out the way for it!! They should have just had the one premiere on the Sunday and could've got pretty high figures for it. Plus now the BB episode that night is up against the tail end of Dancing on Ice.

The following Monday [eviction] is probably a bit unavoidable, although ideally they should have one long show but they like to prop shows up using Big Brother even though it has no effect anymore.

I hate Big Brother at 8pm, I try to watch it at 9pm on +1 but its always too censored.

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 04:22 PM

They just revealed the Week 3 schedule, and that is horrible...
Theres like 8pm's going round everywhere!

also theres a show that finished at around 11:50pm... a bit late.

Only positives is that Sunday could do quite well at 9pm... if DOI isnt the competition, doesnt it end before 9? And Tuesday's 9pm for next week will be good as well.

I just hope it can maintain an overnight average of 3m.

Channel 4 now know theres a fair bit of interest left in the show even with their best attempts to sabotage it in the past couple of years. So now reverting to dirty tactics and giving it the Brookside treatment (which was ironically shoved out the way for Big Brother). I can see another ratings meltdown coming on now after a fairly good start.

For the days when they physically can't put it on at 9pm or 10pm due to films or whatever, they should just skip a day like I'm a Celeb does. Or better still just stick it on at 8pm every day if they want rid that badly.

*mazedsalv** 06-01-2010 07:17 PM

Okay tonight is another night like yesterday.

BB up against the news which last night got 7m+ on BBC1 an 5m+ on ITV because of people wanting to know whats happening with the snow.

Could be the same tonight. Ratings should be higher than yesterday in general for all shows... but will it be for CBB? Or will it drop further?

Generally, tonight there should be even more people watching TV than yesterday as the conditions have got worse and people unable to drive.

What do you think?

Dancing on Ice performance shows end at 8.30pm, with Wild at Heart on before the results show at 9.30pm. Really BB would be best off either out of the way at 10pm, or at 8.30pm directly against Wild at Heart (and clear of DoI).

I think some people who tuned into the news last night may be put off tonight with actual political news now dominating the programme, and not being quite as viewer friendly as lovely snow everywhere!

Do you think politics will be featured heavily in the news?
I fear that CBB will drop again, while all the others see boosts.

Theres only so many times people can sit through clips of snow falling and cars unable to move etc. I doubt it will have as big an impact tonight. I know on ITV, Mary wasn't in Manchester anymore so thats pretty much saying it isn't as important today as it was yesterday.

Hmm maybe.
As long as it stays above 3m, all is good :)

It probably will or be around there providing it starts on time. I think it started at about 5 past last night which probably dragged it down

*mazedsalv** 07-01-2010 09:37 AM

By the way Tuesday night INCLUDING +1 got 3.2m

Last night got 3.02m NOT INCLUDING +1.... will be about 3.2-3.3m when +1 is added.
There was a 50,000 rise from the night before.

4 shows in a row getting 3m+ EXCLUDING +1 is very impressive :D, only 3 shows in BB10 got 3m+ (Launch, Finale, Karly's eviction). so we have already beaten it.

tmx 07-01-2010 09:41 AM

but this is a celeb series, silly comparing it to BB10. Compared to last year's series it's about the same

Tom 07-01-2010 09:46 AM

As expected really, the real test comes tomorrow night when up against DOI then again in the next 2 weeks with the daft schedule changes. it will probably go down to about 2.5m then

Its higher than CBB6 slightly.
On Inside BB they have put the official ratings for the first 4 days of CBB6, and the episodes of CBB7 have beaten them (and will beat them in the officials).
