Michaela McQueen is leaving HO:(.
There won't be an ALIEN joining the show confirmed by DS and HO stars on Twitter:D, it will be something in Elliot's mind as he is a mad science geek PMSL:laugh:. |
LOL did anyone just hear them play the BB9 teaser music when the doctor was talking to Steph about her cancer?
|
Gutted now Steph confirmed to be leaving:(. Carley Stenson has done great to stay with the show for 10 years so I wish her well with her new career in Musical Theatre, just hope that Steph does not die:bawling:.
I wonder who will look after Tom now once she goes.. Cindy?. In a good way these people going means that there will be new characters and hopefully interesting characters if the producers can cast people who can act and not just on looks!. |

I reckon Frankie will look after Tom she always seems to have kids dumped on her  |
The death count is apparently now 17, this really isnt a good thing IMO, the show wont be the same show at all soon

They can't help it if an actor decides to leave the show but some of the axes have been long overdue... |
Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard is reportedly considering quitting the show.
Pickard, who plays Tony Hutchinson in the soap, is said to be unhappy about the treatment of his brother and co-star John, who plays Dominic Reilly. John is rumoured to have been axed from the show and only discovered when his name was missing from the filming schedule. A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "Nick was disgusted at the way his brother was treated. John’s been in the show five years and had no idea they were planning to axe him. "The way he found out from a crew member was terrible. When Nick was told about it he was fuming. He’s not at all happy. "A lot of people have left or are going and the ratings are the lowest they’ve ever been in the show’s history. The way his brother was treated was the final straw. He’s now seriously thinking about leaving the show." A Hollyoaks spokesperson told Digital Spy: "It is not our policy to comment on artists' contracts, however we can confirm that John has recently shot the new Hollyoaks titles which are due to transmit on 5th July to coincide with new producer Paul Marquess's first episodes." I so hope he doesn't leave if this is true:(, however if John and Dom have been axed then I don't agree with the way that he's been told at all. I know that John is Nick's brother but the character of Dom has been quite pointless for a while now and he can't be expected just to hang around because his brother is a Hollyoaks legend!. |
Hollyoaks boss Paul Marquess has dismissed suggestions that the show could be axed by Channel 4 for poor ratings.
The teen soap's viewing figures have dropped below 1m on a number of occasions this year, with one recent episode pulling in just 640,000. The disappointing numbers have caused some speculation that the serial could be facing an uncertain future. However, Marquess is currently heading up a period of rejuvenation at the show after taking office at its home at Lime Pictures in Liverpool in January. In recent months, he has axed a number of characters, cast three new families and promised to take the programme back to its roots. Speaking in a new interview with the Liverpool Echo, the former Brookside and The Bill producer insisted that talk of Hollyoaks coming to an end is "bizarre". He commented: "It is important for Lime Pictures and for Liverpool to keep Hollyoaks as strong as it is. I've had no meetings with Channel 4 about ratings." Discussing the soap's current revamp, Marquess added: "It's all about word of mouth. I knew The Bill was doing well when I heard a group of girls talking about an episode on the Tube. It is an exciting time for Hollyoaks and there is already a real buzz on site." Marquess's appointment as Hollyoaks' series producer came following the departure of Lucy Allan, who took on the role for just over 12 months. Good!:), there is a lot of problems with HO thats no secret but I do think they can turn it around.. C4 need to keep the faith and if they did axe Hollyoaks then I don't think they would do a new soap so it's HO or nothing really... |
Nick Pickard has dismissed reports claiming that he is leaving Hollyoaks.
The 35-year-old actor, who plays Tony Hutchinson on the teen soap, insisted that there is "absolutely no truth" in suggestions he is angry at the Channel 4 show's producers. He added in a statement: "My new storyline with the Sharpe family is on screen this week and I couldn't be happier with [series producer] Paul [Marquess's] work so far. I have no intention of going anywhere anytime soon!" According to Holy Soap, a Hollyoaks spokesperson also confirmed that Pickard is staying with the serial. I'm so glad it's not true!:). |
Interesting interview with the Hollyoaks boss Paul Marquess:).

Nico Mirallegro has confessed that he felt emotional when he filmed his final Hollyoaks scenes.
The actor bowed out from the Channel 4 soap earlier this year and fans are about to see his last episode in the role of Barry 'Newt' Newton. In an interview with Holy Soap, the 19-year-old was asked whether he shed any tears as his time with the serial came to an end. Mirallegro replied: "Yeah, there were a few tears but they weren't scripted, they were genuine. Helen [Pearson] and I were sad saying goodbye in the goodbye scenes. "I've really enjoyed my three years at Hollyoaks. I worked with the most amazing people." Asked who he plans to keep in touch with, he replied: "I lived with Ashley Taylor-Dawson, who plays Darren. We are like brothers in a way. I am still in touch with him. And Nick Pickard and Jimmy McKenna. I still keep in touch with everyone." Mirallegro recently announced that he had landed a role in forthcoming movie McQueen. |
Former Hollyoaks actor Gerard McCarthy has landed a role at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
The 29-year-old, who recently filmed his final scenes as bisexual crossdresser Kris Fisher, has been cast as Fenton in Shakespearean comedy The Merry Wives Of Windsor. The humorous play follows womaniser Sir John Falstaff, who sets about wooing two wealthy married women. Speaking to DS, McCarthy said: "I'm ecstatic to be working at Shakespeare's Globe. The Merry Wives Of Windsor is a hilarious play and I'm looking forward to working with such an exceptional cast, directed by Christopher Luscombe." Luscombe commented: "The audition for Fenton in The Merry Wives of Windsor was quite a test - we needed a handsome, witty young actor, who could handle some really tricky Shakespearean verse, play the guitar and sing beautifully!" He added: "We cast the net far and wide, but Gerard was the clear winner - he made it all look easy, which is a great gift. I'm really looking forward to working with him." McCarthy is due to begin rehearsals within the next few weeks and will make his stage debut on August 14. The play runs at The Globe until October 2, before touring to Los Angeles and New York. The production then returns to the UK in November for several dates around the country. Yay:). |
Samantha Giles has revealed that she is delighted to reprise her role as the "fabulously manipulative" Val Holden on Hollyoaks.
The 39-year-old actress, who also played Bernice Thomas in Emmerdale, will return to screens in late July, reports Holy Soap. "I'm thrilled to be back working with the girls and of course the lovely Brian Bovell (Leo Valentine)," she commented. "It feels like I was never away and it's great to come back and play the fabulously manipulative Val - and this time without the restraint of a big baby bump!" After joining Hollyoaks in 2008, Giles's alter ego was sent to Spain to coincide with the star's maternity leave last year. |

Hollyoaks' rejuvenation process is continuing this week as show bosses officially announced the signings of three more cast members. Cheryl's brother Brendan, McQueen cousin Bart and Hollyoaks Later character Lynsey have all begun filming with the Channel 4 teen soap and are due to arrive on screen at the beginning of August. Actor Emmett Scanlan takes on the role of the soap's new bad boy Brendan Brady. Evil to the core, Brendan knows no bounds and will happily do anything and everything to ensure he reaches his end game. His scheming, manipulative tendencies are clear to those who don't know him, while his sister Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh) won't hear a bad word said against him. Cheryl's best friend Lynsey - played by Karen Hassan, below right - also turns up in the village at the same time and manages to ruffle a few feathers on her way in. Meanwhile, the McQueen clan collects another cousin when they meet ladies' man Bart (Jonny Clarke) at his step-mother's funeral. At first glance, his innocent exterior is enough to convince Myra to take him under her wing. However, his tearaway history of ASBOs and police warnings soon becomes common knowledge. Producer Paul Marquess said: "This is a really exciting time for Hollyoaks and Brendan, Lynsey and Bart bring more fun, drama and sexiness to the show. " Meanwhile, Kris Fisher (Gerard McCarthy), Zak Ramsay (Kent Riley) and Jake Dean (Kevin Sacre) are due to bow out of the Channel 4 soap during the same week as Marquess's new characters arrive. He added: "Of course we’re sad to say goodbye to Kris, Zak and Jake but we wish the boys well in their future endeavours and we look forward to the new residents causing some trouble in the village!" http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/10/25...ks_lyndsey.jpg |

Hollyoaks pulled in 1.3m (7.6%) on Monday evening, according to overnight data.
Cindy walking in on Darren and Suzanne's bedroom activities grabbed the teen soap's best figures since March 24. Meanwhile, a further 117k (0.6%) watched the episode on Channel 4 +1. E4's first look took 569k (3.1%), and 117k (0.6%) on timeshift. Good news!:). |
