Brian Cowen announced that he is changing our national emblem from a shamrock
to a condom. This he feels reflects more accurately the goverments
political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production,
...destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of *****s and gives a
......sense of security while you're actually being screwed!!!!!

people better get out there and vote this time round

Iceman 22-11-2010 07:51 PM

But surely because I could vote i shouldnt have to re-register? I think this will have a huge turnout, people HAVE to vote.

Now this Paper is trying to Scare more than it needs
The €uro Zone has problems with Greece burning more money and not improving
and Other Nations are Destroying the €uro.

You can not stop market traders betting on which nation will fall
its a Open Market but in the €uro Zone it is not a open playing field.

No, you shouldn't have to at all Eoin, how do you check if you're registered? I have been able to vote in everything since I was 18 but you've put a doubt in my head now, maybe that's how Fianna Fáil are planning to stay in un-reigister everyone and when they all turn up to vote they're turned away!:joker:

Stu 23-11-2010 11:02 PM

Fianna Fail's upcoming election slogans revealed :

'Oops, lol!'.
'EAT THE DAMN CHEESE!'.
'Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Biffo'.

for any Irish you have to do this tomorow to vote next year.

I need to stop watching Vincent Browne before I start getting nightmares. Its €343 billion at least, €6,000 off all our wages for next few years. I really want to leave the sinking ship like ... right now. I hear constantly about young people having no job or money so they hop off and emigrate.

But where do fook do they get the money from to DO that?

Stu 23-11-2010 11:15 PM

It's strange because I didn't closely start following Irish politics until very recently, so I guess my lack of knowledge scares me as much as the future itself. I can't picture in practical, everyday terms how bad the crisis will affect us because I'm in a security blanket so to speak. I can't get work but apart from that I'm in college and living with my parents so I'm not THAT bad off.

But just the idea of living in a country where people cannot afford as much, enjoy themselves as much and as a result won't be as happy as they could be depresses me. I mean ... I'm determined to enjoy Christmas but even that doesn't feel the same.

Six years time will mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the proclamation of independence. With any luck we will only be starting to drag ourselves out of the hole by then.

I've got money saved for the past few years that i havent touched and I basically told my dad something he agreed with, he was gonna leave me money when he dies so I said could i not put it towards leaving here, he was more than happy told me I should have asked him months ago... (I would have but it was all very morbid you know)

Edit: My "D" button is on the fritz....if some of that dont make sense.

Stu 23-11-2010 11:19 PM

Canada seems to be the place to be for people jumping ship, it seems. You'd be well sorted for ganja. The place has a huge ganja culture and very, very relaxed laws. Especially in Vancouver. They don't call it 'Vansterdam' for nothing!

Yeah I nearly have a job sorted aswell that will sponsor me for the year hopefully, then in 6 months from when I get there I'll apply for a 2 year extension. Just need to sort accomodation, the money I'm required to bring and flights......and then see when they will let me go.
