BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 10:12 AM

Yes!

Im sutdying all day today! Im soo nervous but i think once i have 1 over with ill be fine (hopefully)

Pipergun 01-05-2006 10:16 AM

Yep, you'll know what to expect after the first exam! :spin:

I don't know about you, but I did some GCSE's last year and lots of Science modules (Bio, Chem and Physics) in exam conditions, so it helps you get used to it!

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 10:21 AM

Yeah we got them before christmas, prelms incase we fail our exams we have an appeal.

Pipergun 01-05-2006 10:24 AM

Oh yeah, we called them Mocks, the problem is, I'd be perfectly happy getting the results that I got for my Mocks!! Now I just know how much work I have to do all over again in the exams!!

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 10:25 AM

I didn't do too well in them soo i need to do well in these!! Ive hardly studied!!! Ahhhh

Pipergun 01-05-2006 10:40 AM

Don't worry! From the sounds of it you've done a lot more than I have, at least!

I think the main thing to remember is once you've done an exam, just forget about it: I know it can be hard but thinking "Oh, I think I got A and B wrong" is only going to make you feel more negative about the other exams that are coming up! :spin2:

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 10:45 AM

Yeah i suppose.

Im good at admin so hopefully if i start off with a possitive start, ill be fine through the rest!

BigSister 01-05-2006 10:56 AM

Good luck Davey and Tom

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 11:14 AM

Thanks!! Ill need it

Pipergun 01-05-2006 11:16 AM

Thanks Becca! Good luck with the Uni exams that you have coming up too!

I start with German Listening, which is where you listen to a group of Germans talking and have to answer questions on it as you go through.

Likewise I'm fairly, but perhaps foolishly, confident on it, as we've had so many practise tests! Hopefully if we start with confidence, that should follow through! I stress the "hopefully" part, though!

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 11:18 AM

Sorry Becca!! God luck to you to!!

Tom, i ahve that except its french. I find that quite easy.

Princess 01-05-2006 11:21 AM

I don't have any exams this year. Just like a gazillion projects and a Maths test which I so don't care if I fail cos it doesn't matter. Good Luck to all those doing exams!

BigSister 01-05-2006 11:28 AM

lol thanks Tom and Davey. Once ive finished this assaignment today im going to start revising grammar

Pipergun 01-05-2006 11:32 AM

Thanks Laura! Hope you do well in all of the projects/tests too!

You make it sound like a spelling test Becca!!

Our class always has a laugh in the listening tests: the female voices always sound so masculine, and we sometimes mistake them for men!!

Some have the most uglly sounding names, like Birgitte (Pronounced Beer-gitter), I'm sure there are some more attractive names they could think of to compensate on the masculinity! :spin2:

BigSister 01-05-2006 11:33 AM

What do you mean it sounds like a spelling test?

Pipergun 01-05-2006 11:34 AM

Well, i thought "Grammar" was to do with spelling and sentence structure etc! Lol!

BigSister 01-05-2006 11:37 AM

it does but i have other things in my language section like semantcs which is the study of words ands phonetics (kill grrrr) which is how the words we speak sound

Pipergun 01-05-2006 11:40 AM

Oh dear! Sounds a lot more complicated now you explain it like that! Hehe! :blush2:

I'm presently struggling over writing an article to describe the state of culture within America. I've done Iraq, Sheffield, America to finish and then Ethiopia!

Geography can be soo annoying ........ :conf:

Quite bizarre that they picked Sheffield as a case study in amongst other countries!! :puzzled:

BigSister 01-05-2006 11:43 AM

oh it is annoying and complicated. Semantics is the best 1 out of the 3 but i have another 1 called Communication studies which is like advertising adverts etc we dont have an exam in that and then we had 2 half modules called English over Time and space which was like history of english and 1 called text/discourse which all the tutors are panicking lol because the tutor is rubbish. There was another 1 as well but that wasnt important

And then I have my literature exam as well but thats just 1 exam so thats ok. Thats 2 h and the Lang 1 is 3 hours an hour for each exam!

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 04:07 PM

I just done 5 hours of studying .. go me

BigSister 01-05-2006 04:37 PM

ooh well done davey i spent 3 hours doing my assaignment but its nearly done

Pipergun 01-05-2006 04:48 PM

We're all knuckling down today, aren't we!

My Geography coursework is getting nearer to completion, but I still have a fair few hours of work to put into it yet - perhaps going offline would help me complete it quicker!:bigsmile:

Speak to you all later, and good luck for tomorrow, Davie, if I'm not back online before then! :wavey:

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 05:17 PM

Thanks Tom

BigSister 01-05-2006 05:23 PM

good luck Davey

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 05:25 PM

Thanks

Im away to some more studying

Don't know if ill be on tonight but if not bye!

BigSister 01-05-2006 05:26 PM

ok bye and good luck!

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 08:39 PM

I studied 2 hours tonight!

Im stressed .. i forgot everything!! HELP!!!

Pipergun 01-05-2006 08:49 PM

Keep calm, Davie. Have confidence in yourself that you've now done the best that you possibly can do in your revision. :spin2:

I think it'd be best for you to forget completely about school for now, as you're not going to do any productive revision at this time of night. Go to the exam tomorrow with a clear mind and try to relax for the rest of tonight!

I know it sounds tough not to worry, but it'll help you concentrate and block everything else out during the exam.

BB-Rocks 01-05-2006 09:06 PM

Im trying too forget about it. Ive elarnt ost things i eman its impossible to know everything ... but i keep thinking that stuff will end up in the exam!

Im going to look over stuff for half an hour and then go bed.

Pipergun 01-05-2006 09:24 PM

Ok, I can see that you're offline now, and I've said it enough times, but good luck for tomorrow - not that you'll need it!

BigSister 01-05-2006 09:33 PM

good luck Davey

Z 01-05-2006 10:47 PM

*****.

That's all I have to say. I'm going to fail these exams badly. They're not important, like other people's, but I'm not going to pass...

BigSister 02-05-2006 10:21 AM

im not going to pass my grammar test either Z

Z 02-05-2006 11:06 AM

Don't get me wrong, I do believe I can do most of them, but I fail to grasp Chemistry or Maths.

I still don't know why we do Maths. Arithmetic, yes. But Maths? Who's going to need to know how to use Pi in their job? Pythagoras? Only a select few careers need those things.

BB-Rocks 02-05-2006 03:00 PM

1 down

7 more to go!

Pipergun 02-05-2006 03:55 PM

Woo! Well done Davie! :spin:

It's still 0 down, 14 to go for me! :bored:

BB-Rocks 02-05-2006 04:00 PM

I never finished it!!!!!

I think ive done enough to pass though

sol 02-05-2006 04:22 PM

Tomorrow I have to be a reader and a scribe for some Year 9s doing there SATs, some of them cant read and write, apparently so I have to waste my time helping some Year 9s who are doing exams that dont even matter, I wouldnt mind so much if they were actually importent exams like GCSEs

BB-Rocks 02-05-2006 04:25 PM

I know what you mean.

Pipergun 02-05-2006 04:50 PM

I still can't believe the number of illiterate people at year 9 stage!:bored:
