Oh I didn't know that, what does he do on it? That's a good gig, one of the biggest shows on probably the most popular Channel, well, then this would reinforce it being a good decision if it's true (fingers and toes crossed)

Every week he's been doing something, either the newspaper review, the Hub, etc. Last week he even did a piece on celebrity holiday resorts! ITV1 do this with people they favour at the moment so in fact Brian may be in a stronger position that it first seems.

Brian Dowling has insisted that he hasn't signed a deal to host Big Brother on Channel 5.

Brian Dowling insists that he will not be presenting Celebrity Big Brother
The Ultimate Big Brother champion and Emma Willis have been tipped to co-host the show when it returns later this year, but the reality TV star has denied that he has already agreed a contract with the broadcaster.

Speaking about the presenting rumours Brian said: "Thanks to everyone for all the love regarding the Big Brother job but these rumours aren't true."

He added: "Just to set the record straight regarding Big Brother, it would be my dream job. Even, I don't know who they have in mind to host the show!"

Jeff Brazier, Stacey Solomon and Josie Gibson have also been tipped for possible presenting roles.

Beastie 24-06-2011 02:03 PM

Brian might be covering his tracks.

I think it will be confirmed tomorrow or Monday who is presenting.

A no no to Josie and Stacey Soloman.

Jeff Brazier would be allright on BBLB!

I am guessing there will be no return for George Lamb?

RTE wouldn't be too happy since it would probably mean he wouldn't do another series of Wagons Den.

Im happier than i thought i would be.

I think he has more power to pull viewers in as alot of people are fond of him

How is Brian more qualified than Emma? What has he actually done except little bits on oktv, this morning & that late night bingo thing? Emma's been with mtv, E!, Studio5, I'm a celeb & BBLB for 2 yrs.

Errrm, Brian presented SMtv live with Tess Daly on ITV1 for 19 months during which time it won 2 Baftas. He had his own series, Brian's Boyfriends which set a ratings record on ITV1. He has presented two spin off shows, one on Living and one on Sky TV. He presented SkyActive for six months with Jayne Sharpe. He was the main presenter on The Mint for the whole of its run. He has recently been co-hosting Wagons Den on RTE2. He has filled in as relief presenter on numerous shows. He has had numerous narrating jobs. He's hosted lots of live gigs, some of them pretty massive, etc etc etc

Confirmed ... rumours ... denied.

That's a brilliant topic title. Those three words together are pulling off like a dozen contradictions at once.

Sounds hot. Like an upcoming new band's name!

If this is true it will be a BIG step-down for BB.

Emma Willis for Main Show.
Jeff Brazier for BBLB.

Patrick 24-06-2011 06:15 PM

Brian would be good for interviewing, for announcing the evictee?

....eh, not so much.

Emma yes, Jeff no.

iRyan 24-06-2011 07:21 PM

Brian would be a decent host but I prefer a female host.

I'm still really hoping for Emma Willis but I guess Brian would be my 2nd choice.

Emma truely would be the perfect host though.

Jordan. 24-06-2011 07:25 PM

Yes, she would. Very good examples.

dizzy bint 24-06-2011 08:02 PM

I still think the pair of them doing it together would be ideal.

daniel-lewis-1985 24-06-2011 08:11 PM

I want them to co host

I wouldn't mind if Brian got the job or if he and Emma were a double act but my God those clips prove she's got character. She is all smiley and nice and I understand why people don't think she'd ask the nitty gritty stuff but I think she is capable of it. See the bit where she goes all serious and mentions climate change lol.

Beso 24-06-2011 11:02 PM

Brian has the job, it's official.

Only according to a website/twitter account well known for being dubious to say the least when it comes to facts.

Brian himself has denied it, although it's possible that this is because he has to due to confidentiality issues.
