Really impressive figures. I thought it would have dropped off after the first half but it kept over 4 million. |
Do you have the figures for the other BB's?
Would be interesting to see how the summer series rated and CBB8 if possible. The thing is with this series though is its got good ratings for Thursday but Fridays and Saturdays are BB's least watched episodes so i really hope people come back after the weekend. |

CBB8- 3.4m (quite a bit down from the 5.3m launch) CBB9- 2.85m CBB10- 2.10m Those are the officials, I think overnights for CBB9 and CBB10 for the first HL show were 2.6m and 1.8m. I agree with you about the weekend, tonight and tomorrow will be difficult, we will have a good indicator where the series will be starting from Sunday and Monday's ratings. |

Would be interesting to see the full viewing figures throughout the summer launch nights. Like how many people tuned in at any one time. I bet alot more dipped in than the 2.7 average. |
Quote:
21:00 2,717,100 11.23% 21:15 2,759,600 11.52% 21:30 2,719,000 11.47% 21:45 2,700,500 11.63% 22:00 2,874,400 13.63% 22:15 2,793,200 13.90% 22:30 2,390,900 13.89% |
Channel 5's press team are happy (not that there was any doubt they would be):
Channel 5 @Channel5Press Last night’s Celebrity Big Brother was watched by 3.5 million viewers and it was the most watched channel on TV for 16-34s for the slot #CBB :) |
Celeb Big Brother continued last night with 1.81m at 9pm, Live from the House at 10pm averaged 1.71m Bit on the Side 0.51m.
|
2.05m (8.9%), peak of 2.52m (11.2%) at 21.50.
Great considering EastEnders, EE viewers tuning in for the second half saved it. |
2.05m is not too bad against EE. It showed EE badly dented it which is why it peaked at 2.52m at 9:50pm. It would have been around 2.5m I feel if EE wasn't on.
|
C4 last night was on its ass: Million Pound Drop 0.66m, 1.17m, 1.13m; Come Dine 1.11m; Made in Chelsea 0.80m; Chatty Man 1.17m; 8 Out of 10 Cats 1.66m.
|
A massive 240k on +1 confirmed. It definitely shows that EE dented it. Imagine if there wasn't Live after the HLs, the figure could have been bigger!
Live from the house got 1.71m excluding +1. |
The first night retention rate is about 10% down on the recent average, which is great against a 7 million EastEnders. The question is, will the extra 10% lost come back? It's followed immediately afterwords by a weekend so with a lot of them likely to miss a further two episodes it will be harder to get them back than usual, let's hope it pisses down and all the casual viewers are struck by some super bug :D.
|
Bit on the Side 0.51m, not it's best C5 rating but it was on after LFTH and CWP.
|
That's fantastic news about the launch! :amazed: I do think the hype was influenced quite a bit by the whole Lindsay Lohan thing though!
|
Big drop off but its Friday and it was up against EE so....
Sunday will be the real test to see if viewers come back. |
Quote:
This, had ee not been on, a good chance it would of got around the 2.5mil mark, ee is most popular soap with 16-34s aswell. |
A big drop, but that's EE for you.

Lastnight ratings were good considering Eastenders was on.
|
It will get similar numbers tonight. The real test is Sunday and Mondays ratings.
|
2.07m last night according to DS (inc +1)
|
2.07m makes it one of the highest (2nd ever I think) ever Saturday rating episodes since the move to Channel 5 (and yes that counts all CBB and BB series).
|
Jesus! Yeah because I saw that it beat the last two first CBB Saturdays, so that's great
|
****ing hell, that's a good rating. I'll go for 2.4mil tonight.
|
Brilliant Saturday ratings, can't quite believe it increased from a Friday to a Saturday?
|
Its really good considering the timeslot.
Heres the first Saturday ratings for previous series to compare (bear in mind they are all officials so this 2.07 will rise). I can see this series matching CBB9 easily. CBB11: 2.07 (unnoficial) CBB10: 1.82 CBB9: 2.29 CBB8: 3.15 |
Fantastic ratings!
|
That's brilliant ratings, hope it keeps up.

Predictions for BB tonight? Competition is stiff, Ripper Street, The Iron Lady, and Mr Selfridge, the middle of which is the network premiere of an only 2 year old Oscar winning film, the latter of which has a Dancing On Ice lead in, and all of which are big budget.

CBB9: Thursdays - 2.86, 2.51, 2.78 - Avg: 2.72m Sundays - 2.63, 2.07, 2.26 - Avg: 2.32m Thursday beat Sunday by - 230k, 440k, 520k - Avg beat: 397k Not including launch Thurs, official ratings. |
Comp is tough, but theres a core 2mil audience that will stick with it regardless of what's on, I think this cbb is attracting more casuals aswell.
So for that reason the minimum it will get is around 2.1 with +1 I woulda thought, I do think it will hit 2.4 maybe more if that ITV advert rumour is true. With +1 btw. People are skint, and I think the audience range will be higher tonight then most if not all weekends around the year. Ethier way ch 5 will be thrilled, nothing else they could offer would come close to that. |
