#86: Rihanna ft Calvin Harris - We Found Love (September 2011)

This became one of the years biggest dance tunes and as much as you may not like either artist, it really was a great production. The catchy chorus from Rihanna mixed with the handy work of Harris made this song an instant worldwide success that could be heard from pretty much every club, radio, car and iPod.

#85: The Kooks - Ooh La (October 2006)

The 6th single from their debut album gave them another top twenty hit. This catchy little number was often heard blasting around most students' uni dorms that year, and was on of the most played on the jukeboxes in the pubs.

Shaun 01-07-2013 11:36 AM

is naive in your list? if not it's soooo much better

i liked them, though. not really a band with longevity... third album was crap... but still.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 11:41 AM

#84: Lasgo - Something (May 2001)

One of the most memorable dance tracks from the first half of the 00's this offering from the Belgian trance group gave them a short lived height of fame across the waters.

Of course Naive is in there.

Shaun 01-07-2013 11:43 AM

lasgo  the UK went through a drought of random one-hit-wonders from DJs towards the end of the noughties... glad that's changed recently though (nicky romero, duke dumont, bingo players)

Marc 01-07-2013 11:45 AM

Lasgo

I bloody loved this song

Benjamin 01-07-2013 11:48 AM

#83: Eminem ft Dido - Stan (December 2000)

Probably his most successful song and most loved overall across the population. This collaboration from Eminem and Dido proved to be a good move for his career and hers. Making #1 in over 15 countries this still stands as his best selling song.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 11:58 AM

#82: 30 Seconds To Mars - Kings & Queens (October 2009)

This song just sends a burst of power and determination through you when listening to it, and gives you the sense that you can achieve anything. A powerful song taken from their 3rd album 'This Is Was'.

Marc 01-07-2013 11:59 AM

Eoin will be fuming

Shaun 01-07-2013 11:59 AM

their new songs though :/

#81: Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. (May 2005)

How this never did better than the truly awful 'Dare' is beyond me, but hey ho. This song is one of the finest pieces to be delivered from Damon Alburn and also gave the Gorillaz their highest ever peak on the Billboard at #14. The rapper featured is De La Soul.

Shaun 01-07-2013 12:03 PM

Dare is not truly awful :nono:

but yes this is better. probably top 10 greatest songs of the decade. :worship:

Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love for top 10

Shaun 01-07-2013 12:06 PM

Roy Mars III 01-07-2013 12:08 PM

Benjamin 01-07-2013 12:15 PM

Tbh, the top 20 is just Black eyed peas.

Shaun 01-07-2013 12:17 PM

 such a stan

Benjamin 01-07-2013 07:20 PM

I know. :(

LemonJam 01-07-2013 07:29 PM

30 seconds to Mars are probably one of biggest one trick ponies in the business but when they nail it, they really nail it (The Kill & From Yesterday )

Feel Good Inc too

Benjamin 01-07-2013 07:47 PM

#80: Infected Mushroom - Scorpion Frog (August 2003)

Now this list isn't just about those indie/pop/rock songs that most people like to list, this covers all genres and psy-trance is no exception. This song hails from the Israeli duo's fourth album 'Converting Vegetarians' and was popular amongst the hardcore fans of getting off your tits and dancing like a twat because you just didn't care.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 07:56 PM

#79: Outkast - Ms. Jackson (January 2001)

Something about artists fourth albums, this was the second single from their fourth album 'Stankonia'. Peaking at #2 in the UK, it gave them their highest chart position over here and gave them a lot more attention. One of their finest pieces of work and one of the finest songs to come from that year.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:01 PM

#78: Daft Punk - Digital Love (August 2001)

Before they released 'Get Lucky' they actually had music before that which had fared well. This beautiful track came off their second album 'Discovery' and gave them fourth top 15 hit. And people say the French can't make music. :nono:

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:05 PM

#77: Gotye ft Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (July 2011)

I remember when I first played this in plug and most of you hated it. Then about 8 months later it was #1 and most people loved it. It went on to be the biggest selling single that year in the UK and in the world. Not bad for somebody who hasn;t really garnered much attention before or after this hit.

LemonJam 01-07-2013 08:06 PM

Miss Jacksons a contender for top 20 songs of all time for me.

Jords 01-07-2013 08:07 PM

Ms Jackson should be a lot higher.

Shaun 01-07-2013 08:08 PM

don't you dare put digital love below twinkle twinkle little star ever again

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:11 PM

#76: Kings Of Leon - Fans (July 2007)

Before KOL got all annoying they actually had some great music. This track being one of them and one of the last of them. The second single from their 3rd album
this little number is a song dedicated to their fans in the UK as they were at the time more successful here than in their native US.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:18 PM

#75: Destiny's Child - Say My Name (February 2000)

Arguably one of the best female bands of all time, this saw them start to get a lot more attention in the UK, gaining them their first top 3 hit. The band at this point had changed line up and was the first time we saw Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:31 PM

#74: Nine Inch Nails ft Marilyn Manson - Star****ers, Inc. (May 2000)

They have had a few better songs than this, but those are all in the 90's. This one is probably one of their finest from this side of the millennium and they teamed up with Mr. Manson himself.

Shaun 01-07-2013 08:31 PM

star****ers

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:39 PM

#73: Ludovico Einaudi - Nightbook (October 2009)

This man is a beautiful genius. He has created some of the best pieces of music this millennium and it never gets dull. He really knows how to work your emotions when composing and this song is one of his finest. If you are not familiar with him, you really should be.

Shaun 01-07-2013 08:45 PM

einaudi  not heard this one though.

Benjamin 01-07-2013 08:45 PM

#72: Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns [Trentemoller Remix] (June 2006)

If you are a fan of chilled music then this should be right up your alley. Not many remixes are better than the original, but this is. This is one you can chill to with a beer on a sunny day (on those rare occasions when we have them).
