you can't choose to be straight.

I didn't say I chose anything. I think you need to familiarize yourself with what asexuality actually is.

DanaC 29-07-2013 04:37 PM

*smiles*

You can be asexual and still find people attractrive. The people you find attractrive will depend on whether you are straight, gay or bi etc.

Personally, I am asexual straight as well. Though it took until my late 30s to figure that out. Prior to that I thought there must be something wrong with me.

Nope. That's not what it means.

From wiki:

Quote:

Asexuality (or nonsexuality)[1][2][3] is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone or low or absent interest in sexual activity.[4][5][6] It may be considered the lack of a sexual orientation, or one of the four types thereof, alongside heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality.[7][8][9] A study in 2004 placed the prevalence of asexuality at 1%.[7][10]
Asexuality is distinct from abstention from sexual activity and from celibacy,[11] which are behavioral and generally motivated by factors such as an individual's personal or religious beliefs;[12] sexual orientation, unlike sexual behavior, is believed to be "enduring".[13] Some asexual people do engage in sexual activity despite lacking a desire for sex or sexual attraction, due to a variety of reasons, such as a desire to please romantic partners or a desire to have children.[6

No not at all. Without writing an essay the easiest way to explain it is 'An asexual person is a person who does not experience sexual attraction'.

LikeABoatOnWater 29-07-2013 04:44 PM

Well if you dont experience sexual attraction and your living a straight life style then your choosing to be straight surely.

No, I find women attractive. I do not find men attractive. For example, if you approached a regular every day person in a club and said to them you cannot have sex for the next 7 months. They would probably go and hang themselves. I havent had sex for about 7 years and have no desire to seek it out.

If you are genuinely interested in the subject I would recommend visiting http://www.asexuality.org/en/ the good folks there can explain it far better than I can.

do you wank

DanaC 29-07-2013 04:50 PM

That is not the same as having sex with another person.

DanaC 29-07-2013 04:52 PM

There are lots of people in relationships who have sex with their partners because that's what you're supposed to do, and because not doing so would make their partner feel like they were being rejected or were unattractive They may love their partner very much. They may find them very attractive. They may enjoy the romance, or cuddling up on the sofa. But full on sexual activity may feel totally wrong to them.

Nope. Althought some asexuals do. Its a very wide spectrum. I am not a prude either before someone directs that at me. I find sexual things such as porn quite funny to be honest. My first incline that I maybe asexual was when everyone around me was obsessed with sex as a youngster, and I thought ok erm what am I missing? Then after making a conscious effort to 'pull' being bored senseless with 'it'.

And before some smartass says 'you just cant get laid' if I wanted it and I couldnt get it through conventional means, I would pay for it. I just don't care about it.

They may be able to think themselves into a frame of mind where it's ok. Or they may even quite enjoy it, but not actually have a desire for it.

When people find out I have been single for nearly 10 years, they find it strange that i don't miss the sex. When in fact that's the part of a relationship that I absolutely do not miss. I just don't have that desire.

Like CynicalHermit, my first inkling was when i was younger and all my mates talked about sex. It just did nothing for me. It's like that part of my brain never activated or something. Really, it's only the last few years that I have recognised it for what it is. before that I spent a long time thinking I was somehow broken. When actually, I'm just wired a little differently to most people.

There has been zero indication of this and whether he is or not, this thread is just wishful thinking on the part of the OP. Speculation and gossip based on absolutley nothing.

keep pouting hun xoxo

Well. No. Don't think he is.

And?

So what if he is? So was Dan, one of the twins, Wolfey, Rylan and thousands of other people in the world. What's your point?

As for him having the mental age of 13. I think that's ridicules. I think he acts the mental age of a young lad...which is what he is.

DanaC 29-07-2013 05:12 PM

he seems a pretty normal 23 year old to me.

Verbal 29-07-2013 05:28 PM

Not quite sure what you're referring to then Dana, but ok :D

And you deleted the post I was referring to. That's why it wouldnt show up in the quote.

The mystery deepens.. lol

billy123 29-07-2013 05:30 PM

Why the hell is this still open its got nothing to do with big brother and what it did have to do with it when the thread was started was thinly veiled homophobia.

elliebrew 29-07-2013 05:30 PM

How is this thread STILL going

Hahaha. Sorry. I skimmed down the thread and thought I'd put 'cyclehermit' and apologised. Then read more carefully and realised I hadn't. This is what comes from posting without my specs :p
