There seems to be scattered bands of people here and there and then the mod team and then in between there it's a free for all.

Maybe community orientated activities would bring people together, I like Shaun's member reviews stuff like that which get people feeling like they are actually part of the forum and not a ghost.

I forgot to add to my post, comments like so and so needs to be unbanned etc are all just bollocks IMO

Lets be honest in Scott's case he rarely ventured out of the chat thread so I doubt very much the place would be any busier with him unbanned..

Literally took the words out of my mouth. The chat thread would be bumped more. That's it.

Vanessa 06-11-2013 09:26 PM

Is Scott perma banned? :suspect:

Glenn. 06-11-2013 09:26 PM

I might just piss off for a bit. Come back at Christmas. Surely it will be better than it is now.

Why was he even banned anyway? I missed that episode.

Agree 100%. I tried to form a movement to try and attract new members to the forum (preferably good looking females) but no one else was on board

They'd all no doubt be men anyway

Glenn. 06-11-2013 09:36 PM

I would like to just point out the forum isn't making me suicidal , I just feel it's lost its spark.

Sticking a picture of your penis on the chat thread and writing 'free gift when you sign up today' was never a good idea but at least I signed up

Kizzy 06-11-2013 09:40 PM

Personally I didn't find scott funny, I was really concerned for him and saw him as a rather tragic character.
Enabling his destructive behaviours did nothing to help him and I got the impression that many laughed at him rather than with him.

Vanessa 06-11-2013 09:42 PM

I hope Scott is ok anyway.

Marcus. 06-11-2013 09:43 PM

aye scotty was canny

Glenn. 06-11-2013 09:43 PM

I certainly laughed with him. Not at him.

Smithy 06-11-2013 09:47 PM

noone enabled his destructive behaviour, everyone was really worried about him

I was to the point of begging him to get help for his drinking, I was struggling myself at the time too... The post was removed.
I'm not meaning anyone in particular when I say that either, but I saw the humour the tales of his behaviours caused.
Anyway that was just how I saw it, best not to make this a scott discussion thread.

HD 06-11-2013 10:05 PM

It'd be less depressing if Glenn wasn't ERE!!!!

<war>

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 06-11-2013 10:08 PM

I find that when I visit a forum where the main focus is one subject-be it big brother, some singer, actor, sport stars-someone always starts a thread saying the forum has lost it's spark during "off season" :joker:

Wow mean, I used to get on with scott. :(

Yeah how did he get banned? And zippy never came back. Shame.

Smithy 06-11-2013 10:12 PM

Zippy was a mess, good riddance

So did I. I still found him a bit much. Not a reflection on him as a person - because I don't know anything about his issues - just a reflection of his posts.

Don't find that mean myself at all personally but to each their own. I'm sure he was banned for a reason.

..no, TiBB doesn't depress me at all, I find that when I get 'irritated' more or notice it being quieter more is usually when I'm not working..holidays/half term etc..so it's not really anything different on TiBB, just my perspective of it because it becomes more of a focus if I'm not doing anything else and the habit is to log on...once I go back to work and I have my 'balance' back which I need, the sun starts to shine on TiBB once again...

Ammi 07-11-2013 04:47 AM

..I think for me, because my OH doesn't get so much time off work as I do and the boys are older and doing their own thing most of the time..the school holidays can become like a 'monthly period' and I get grumpy/bored/restless/irritated and then it's like pfffft, with your top 10s, Shaun..:idc:...

smeagol 07-11-2013 10:56 AM

forums cant make you depressed then your depressed anyway lol

Vanessa 07-11-2013 10:57 AM

The forum keeps crashing for me this morning. :suspect:

This forum must have been a wonderful place filled with sunshine and rainbows and unicorns before the likes of me turned up.

Charming.

It's a forum why would anyone come on here if it depressed them :conf: It is bound to change as people move on with their lives. As for banned members surely the people who were friendly with them can contact them outside the forum, and if they can't how good a "friend" can they be.

Agreed. Everyone is welcome in here. I like the new members, even if we don't always agree on things. :)

In principle yes but I disagree in practicality.

A lot of new members have to do a lot to get 'noticed' unless they cosy up with one of the favourites or spark up something controversial.

I was practically a ghost until I lit the touch paper on that H.M.S Samuel thread.

It's hard to be a new member for everyone. But i think after a while you start to get used to the forum.

Well isn't that true of life in general, you get noticed if you speak to people or start good threads/conversations? Sitting in a corner saying nothing is never going to get you noticed on a forum
