happened in the most recent bb australia series, it was extended by two weeks

Certainly in the UK, but not unheard of in the world of Big Brother - just last year Big Brother Australia extended its latest season by two weeks half way through.

I'm sure the housemates' contracts will cover this - they probably stipulate the housemate must be available for a maximum amount of days that accounts for a possible extension

Josiah. 15-01-2014 12:13 AM

Matt, I have to agree with you on this.

This I would be so annoyed if it does, I much prefer civilian BB to CBB, but I totally have my doubts if this is true. especially as it came from the Daily Star.

I think this shows that Big Brother still has a lot of life in it. If they're extending the series then that surely shows that not only this series is performing better than expected, but C5 are also happy with how the format is benefiting the channel overall?

It's great news either way.

I'm personally hoping summer CBB gets axed tbh and the main civilian series is extended by a week or two.

Vanessa 15-01-2014 10:59 AM

Great! Three weeks is too short.

daniel-lewis-1985 15-01-2014 11:13 AM

Maybe they've got a surprise new housemate they couldn't resist signing up so extended it?

Someone like Janice Dickinson would be perfect.

@bbuk_fans 15-01-2014 11:15 AM

It's been confirmed now, final will be 28th

daniel-lewis-1985 15-01-2014 11:17 AM

When was it supposed to end?

That doesn't seem much of an extension to me, just a bit over 3 weeks as usual its random its on a Tuesday aswell.

Celebrity Big Brother 13 is the thirteenth series of the British reality television series Celebrity Big Brother. It launched on 3 January 2014 on Channel 5[1] and will end after 26 days on 28 January 2014, making it the longest Channel 5 series of Celebrity Big Brother. The series was originally meant to end after 22 days on 24 January 2014, however due to ratings success, it was extended by 4 days.[2] It is the sixth celebrity series and the ninth series of Big Brother overall to air on the channel. The series was officially confirmed on 3 April 2012 when Channel 5 renewed the show until 2014.[3] Emma Willis has returned to host the series.[4]

I would rather it end on a Friday to be honest, makes the final more of an event.

Im thinking the real reason is Channel 5 have probably bought in some new American import they want to screen. With it being on a Tuesday theres no reason to split the final into 2 which is a positive though.

jamiewordsley 15-01-2014 11:24 AM

Might only be 4 days more BUT Its 4 days MORE wooooooooooooo

Did you see the contracts or something?

Big Brother can change the rules at anytime is pretty much the way it goes.

zakman440 15-01-2014 12:17 PM

:cheer2::cheer2: this is great, just as long as three things dont happen:

1) Luisa get's evicted (which leads me on to)
2) They keep on focusing on the ****ing love triangle
3) It doesn't shorten civilian Big Brother.

Kate! 15-01-2014 12:20 PM

Agreed that the final should be on a Friday, much better.

Vanessa 15-01-2014 12:21 PM

4 more days! :cheer2:

HBB1508 15-01-2014 12:22 PM

I'd have loved it to run for another week but I'll settle for 4 days something is better than nothing :)

blisstheassassin 15-01-2014 01:27 PM

Great news.

cheeky_monkey 15-01-2014 01:43 PM

Great news. :D

Just hope the entertaining housemates are at the final otherwise it's 4 extra boring episodes. lol

I'm really hoping the summer CBB gets cancelled, too & the civilian series gets extended, I much prefer the civilian BB to CBB if I'm honest.

Scream 15-01-2014 01:57 PM

The only problem is i'm sure we're going to be left with Ollie and Sam...that's going to drag so much. Then probably Dappy and Jim??

:(

This, it will only be worthwhile if Luisa is still in

I agree I want Luisa to get to the final she's so entertaining and yesterday's episode was funny. lol

Tom4784 15-01-2014 02:30 PM

It'll be something that has been planned in advance and discussed thoroughly with the celebs beforehand, they wouldn't risk half of the celebs leaving because they have other jobs lined up after the original end date.

I'd assume their contracts either sate that the producers can change the finale date at their own discretion - or it states that they must leave +/- 7 days of the penned in finale date as broadcasting may change.

If they have got another celeb in the line them they need to put the new celeb in either tonight or Friday. Otherwise an additional housemate is pointless.

Tregard 15-01-2014 09:45 PM

Is this confirmed yet?
