George Ezra!
Calvin Harris came second with five votes. Aphex Twin and Ed Sheeran were tied on three, and poor old Sam Smith, having had a terrible year, finishes with 2.

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:36 PM

:amazed:

Good start TIBB xo

Jake. 21-12-2014 07:37 PM

:clap1:

Samm 21-12-2014 07:38 PM

Calvin was robbed

Shaun 21-12-2014 07:38 PM

Now let's watch the TiBB interest quadruple as we switch from men to women. The nominees for the Best British Bird were...

And this winner was a little more resounding. With 45%, that lovely lady is...

Natalie. 21-12-2014 07:38 PM

wekk done george

M.I.A.!
Cannily releasing Matangi at the very end of 2013, she sneaks into win both 2013 and 2014's prizes. Now to release a random single between now and next October :clap1: Lily Allen came second with 25%, Katy B was third and Jessie J fourth. Charli XCX only had one hit vote.

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:42 PM

Oh I think I was the one who voted for Charli. Awks

M.I.A is a good winner tho <3

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:43 PM

Oh no I went Katy B, soz Charli xx

Shaun 21-12-2014 07:44 PM

A pop group can be a glorious thing, unless they are handed over to Louis Walsh. The British Isles have been brewing a little in the way of potential replacements to the Girls Aloud/Sugababes era, and here are the best we could come up with.

Surprisingly close, the winning PHENOMENON - with 35% of the vote - are...

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:46 PM

Basement Jaxx or Neon Jungle pls, but I expect neither

Little Mix!
And a very well-deserved win indeed. The other X Factor gods were their closest rivals on 30%, whilst Basement Jaxx's subdued year saw them finish third. Clean Bandit took two votes, and Neon Jungle had to wait until the very last vote to get anything at all. Bless.

Samm 21-12-2014 07:47 PM

Lily </3, MIA will do

Samm 21-12-2014 07:47 PM

Yass little slay

Tom4784 21-12-2014 07:49 PM

Good winners so far.

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:49 PM

omfg poor Neon Jungle </3. Welcome To The Jungle was an utter tune.

Shaun 21-12-2014 07:51 PM

But let's all just brush on a layer of credibility for a minute and appease the NME crowd.

I think the result to this was inevitable, really - the winners (with 35% again) are...

Jake. 21-12-2014 07:51 PM

Neon Jungle are pretty crap let's not lie

CHVRCHES! (again)
TOO BLOODY RIGHT. Despite the notable handicap of being clinically terrible, Bastille came second with 25%. Bombay Bicycle Club finished third with four votes, Metronomy fourth with three votes (keep up) and only one chap recognised The Horrors.

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:54 PM

CHVRCHES or I'm cutting y'all.

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:54 PM

YAY!!!

LukeB 21-12-2014 07:55 PM

who?
Bastille :flutter:

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 07:55 PM

tbh I liked them all bar Bastille so any result would have been good I guess.

They're used on montages all the time, you'd have heard their work.

Shaun 21-12-2014 07:58 PM

Looking at the best-sellers' list of 2014, absolutely none of these albums feature on it. Well done all. The five albums who don't need no platinum sales when they have TiBB are...

This one was a lot more close, but the final vote swayed it and the winning LP, with 30%, is...

"Matangi" by M.I.A.!
Sheezus and Salute were both a very close, tied second with five votes apiece. FKA Twigs took three, and Metronomy just the one.

Shaun 21-12-2014 08:04 PM

ENOUGH OF THAT, THOUGH. Let's swallow eight glorious pop nuggets. All eight nominees for Best British song are, indeed, wonderful. Well done all.

And... contain your gasps... we have two winners. They both received four votes, and they are...

Jake. 21-12-2014 08:05 PM

Our Time deserves a win tbh

Black Dagger 21-12-2014 08:06 PM

Oh Metronomy deserved a lot more :fist:

Come on Katy B.

LukeB 21-12-2014 08:06 PM

"Ghost" by Ella Henderson & "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" by Paloma Faith!
Duke Dumont's I Got U and Rita Ora's I Will Never Let You Down were tied for third with three votes. Lily Allen, Charli XCX and Katy B all took two votes, whilst Neon Jungle are our first "nul points" of the night.

LukeB 21-12-2014 08:09 PM

:amazed: yay Ella
