Jess still leading after 3 events!

Mo Farah on soon

Headie 22-08-2015 01:28 PM

Mo :worship:

Macie Lightfoot 23-08-2015 04:27 AM

eek @ KJT fouling all her long jumps. Theisen's about 100 points behind Ennis so it should be interesting. We'll see how much Theisen's high jump performance costs her.

Headie 23-08-2015 10:06 AM

It's definitely Jess's to lose now.

Hopefully KJT can come away with a medal in the individual long jump later in the week.

Also praying Bolt beats Gatlin tonight :fc:

Legend killer 23-08-2015 12:28 PM

Can't wait for Gaitlin to go in dry on Bolt. He refused to race Gay when he was injury free and has done the same with Gaitlin this year aswell.

You can only run for so long Bolt

Usain Bolt, 2015 World Champion :worship:

Where is Twatlin? Crying in a corner? :pat:

James 23-08-2015 02:24 PM

Steve Cram got pretty excited.

He always shouts during every 100m final commentary he does

BigSister 23-08-2015 05:24 PM

So pleased for Jess ^_^ and so glad that Bolt won 100m too I wasn't sure if he would but glad he did. Hopefully Jess and Mos medals will spur others on.

Macie Lightfoot 23-08-2015 06:21 PM

I mean, I think Bolt and Gatlin are both huge assholes so who cares

Bolt >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Marq O'Neil >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Twatlin

In other news Christine starts her bid tomorrow of defending her title... she's nowhere near the level needed for Gold but neither was she in London or Moscow based off preparations so I'm excited to see what she can pull off again :cheer2:

Headie 24-08-2015 06:22 PM

Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce's weave :worship:

Macie Lightfoot 24-08-2015 10:25 PM

jesus @ Schippers and Bowie's closing that gap for second and third. Wow.

Also eek @ Molly Huddle celebrating at the line and getting caught by Emily Infeld and losing out on her medal. Good showing by the Americans in the distances though, getting all 3 men and 3 women to the steeple final and having the women go 3-4-6 in the 10K

Headie 25-08-2015 12:45 PM

Greg Rutherford :worship:

Not been a good day for Americans today apart from Felix/Francis

Macie Lightfoot 25-08-2015 08:54 PM

Pretty cool for Kenya to have the world champ in 400H, not something you would ~expect~

Also, jesus @ Dibaba's last 800 being a 1:57 that is beyond absurd

Macie Lightfoot 26-08-2015 03:07 AM

Alysia Montano fell in the 800 prelims :( quite a shame since she and Wilson (injured) were obviously very capable of making the finals and medaling. Looks like Martinez is the only American in. Ludlow's still eligible to qualify on time but I'm not counting on it, she's 5th out of 6th rn.

Not surprised about Goule fading badly though. She went out in 57.96 and died hard. That hasn't been working for her lately on the NCAA level so why did she think it'd work at worlds?

Macie Lightfoot 26-08-2015 03:19 AM

Good to see Taylor and Craddock make the TJ final. Dendy just missed out on finals on second best mark.

Macie Lightfoot 26-08-2015 10:44 PM

Good stuff to see the American girls go 2-3 in 400H

BigSister 28-08-2015 02:47 PM

Congrats to Shauna Proctor getting a silver in womens long jump

Macie Lightfoot 28-08-2015 07:36 PM

Definitely still a lot of stuff going wrong for USA (Brenda Martinez not qualifying for the 800 final, Trey Hardee pulling out of the decathlon, pretty much everything hurdle related for both genders) but Allyson Felix had an awesome win the 400, Christian Taylor had an AMAZING triple jump and is now only 8 cm from the world record (and he gave up 11+ cm on the board), Ashton Eaton running a 10.23 and 45.00 (all-time best in a decathlon) and being only 20 or so points off of his WR from 2012, Tianna Bartoletta going from barely having the bronze medal to securing the gold on her last jump, and Aries Merritt getting a bronze medal despite being in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

Also, Dafne Schippers is the real deal. Damn.

Macie Lightfoot 29-08-2015 12:32 PM

Ashton Eaton breaking his world record <3

BigSister 29-08-2015 05:16 PM

Mo  ^_^

Headie 29-08-2015 05:29 PM

This has been a good champs, sad it's over tomorrow.

Looking forward to Rio next year and London 2017

Headie 29-08-2015 05:58 PM

Fave time of the year with high school, NCAA, and USA championships all in one weekend! Some highlights that nobody cares about

USA:
-Sandi Morris joins the 16' club by winning PV and going 16'2.75" (4.95m)
-Vashti Cunningham wins her first senior national title, jumping 6'6.25" (1.99m). She is 18 years old and broke the world junior record, btw.
-Ajee' Wilson goes 2:00.87 for 800m
-Brianna Rollins and Keni Harrison go 7.76/7.77 for 60H
-7.00 for Barbara Pierre in 60m

NCAA:
-Kendell Williams broke her own collegiate record with a 4703 heptathlon
-Edward Cheserek wins the 5000 in 13:47.89, anchors the winning DMR with a 3:52.84 anchor about an hour later, and then wins the 3000 with a time of 8:00.40
-Freshman Lexi Weeks wins PV with a jump of 15'2.25" (4.63m)
-Keturah Orji wins nTJ with a jump of 46'4" (14.12m)
-Freshman Teahna Daniels wins the 60m with a NCAA frosh record of 7.11
-Felicia Brown wins the 200m in 22.47
-Molly Seidel with a 3k/5k double with times of 8:57.86 and 15:15.21

I'll edit in high school stuff soon bc the meet is just finishing up and SO MANY records got broken :o

Headie 13-03-2016 07:13 PM

Watched a bit of the US trials last night, Vasthi Cunningham looks like a real promising talent!

In other news, Team GB have arrived in Portland! But our governing body is being tight bastards right now and rejecting loads of invites for athletes who get invited by the IAAF. They just want medals and aren't sending IAAF invite athletes for "financial reasons"

Headie 14-03-2016 08:31 PM

Why have I only just discovered this interview:

The bitterness in that clip @ the other countries having reserves :joker: This might be tied with my favourite post-race interview ever along with Tiffany and Cindy's bitchy eye rolling interview <333

Headie 18-03-2016 04:31 PM

Coverage starting on the red button at about 6.15!

Headie 30-04-2016 12:05 AM

Gotzis Live Stream:

Kat is currently leading the Heptathlon.

Also Sound of Silence by Dami Im keeps playing in the stadium like every 10 minutes, I love it <333

Headie 28-05-2016 02:36 PM

They're playing Euphoria now

Headie 10-06-2016 06:34 PM

Olympic Trials start this time in 2 weeks :clap1:

Also, it's scary how much Lynsey Sharp (GB) and Susan Kuijken (NED) lookalike!

Macie Lightfoot 19-06-2016 05:40 PM

Forgot to mention that a few weeks ago I was watching some random low-key meet on TV (American Track League in Atlanta) and oh my god what a disaster it was...

-Angelo Taylor runs 54.xx in the intermediates
-Sanya Richards-Ross does not finish the 100 bc of a hamstring issue
-DeeDee Trotter runs 51 high in the 400 and then collapses with an asthma attack all while the commentator notes "if there's one thing that's for certain, you can never count out DeeDee Trotter" :joker:
-and then idk, more Lolo Jones theatrics since she doesn't start her race

yeah, this is definitely It for a lot of the big-name Americans. A lot of them aren't gonna make the team and it's gonna be a big changing of the guard across the board in almost all events.

Macie Lightfoot 19-06-2016 09:49 PM

holy **** Sydney McLaughlin just obliterated the high school record in the intermediates with a 54.46 :o she's only 16. I'm excited to see her in Olympic Trials. Gonna be tough as hell for her to make the team but it'd be great if she made the finals and got like top 5.

She also split 50.93 FAT on a relay two days ago fwiw
