I don't think the use of words like 'fag' or 'puff' or whatever automatically makes someone homophobic, a bit clueless maybe, but not homophobic.

I disagree, as it contributes toward an 'us vs. them' environment and mentality where homosexuals are seen as outsiders or 'weird'. It's a slur, period.

They are the equivalent of using the N word against a gay person, which in my eyes does make them very homophobic. The words have a lot of weight to them.

For me personally, I think it's more the context in which the words are used that makes it homophobic, like there's a difference between using the words in a jokey way and using them in a way meant to cause offense to homosexual people.

Yes intention is more than the word itself, but it was clearly in a nasty context also. Sometimes my friends say things like "shh ur gay" in a way that's obviously jokey and sarcastic, which is fine. But it seemed very malicious the way Danny did it.

To be honest i dont want a straight man use the f word i find it offensive as it would be offensive when the n word is used by a white person

Especially considering this day in age where people are becoming more accepting, it's very abnormal to see someone so openly mock gays -- and recently.

He does seem very contradictory but the homophobic side comes out of most straight men when they get into an argument with someone they think is gay anyway

Well, this thread isn't about harassment of women. Those tweets don't make Danny homophobic. Whether you like the words he's used or not, actually being homophobic is a way of thinking, that you simply can't assess from a couple of tweets, when in the right context it could be mutual ribbing with mates. I'm gay and I have no problem with the word 'fag' when used with my mates, or even people I don't know if it's not said in a malicious way, and I use it myself also. I wouldn't however shout it at someone on the street aggressively. Context. I understand that some people would disagree with me and dislike the word in any context, but even if that's the case, it doesn't automatically make someone else homophobic for having a different perception of the word.

I fear Danny the Coward's gonna get a lot of guys wanting fights with him when he gets out of the BB house.:hehe:

Add it to all his other tweets and his 4 occasions of violence in the house and it all adds up to a very nasty individual indeed.
