Wow, Nosedive isn't that scary.

I'm glad, the higher budget can do the stories a bit more justice. I never really got into a Million Merits or whatever it was called because it looked so cheap. |
I've only seen Nosedive from season 3 and I really liked it
|
In terms of S3:
San Junipero > Nosedive > Playtest > Hated in the Nation > Shut Up and Dance > Men Against Fire The only episodes I haven't watched entirely are The National Anthem, Fifteen Million Merits, Be Right Back and The Waldo Moment. |
HITN/SU&D are the best of the series :nono:

Shut up, bitch!

Shut Up and Dance is the best episode ever imo?
|
I haven't seen Hated In The Nation yet and am not sure I'm gonna watch Playtest because I asked friends and was told it's not really advisable if you don't like horror
San Junipero was my new favourite episode though (previously TEHOY), it's cute AF and anything that closes with Belinda Carlisle is a-okay with me  |

Also yeah Playtest frightened me to no end (it didn't help that I was house/dog sitting on my own at the time and I watched it at around 1am)
|
I watched s3 a few weeks back and... I'm not really sure on I feel about any of them? I liked Playtest and SU&D more than most, judging by the general reaction to both of them, and I actually didn't love San Junipero as much as I'm supposed to, as very good as it is
I'd probably say that my favourites were Nosedive and HITN, but even then I'm doubting myself |
I completely disagree, I've been a huge fan of this show since it begun and season 3 is definitely the best season yet, and shows the show isn't even close of running out of ideas - Shut Up and Dance and San Junipero are the two best episodes of the whole show imo - with Playtest and Nose Dive being really good ideas - the other two episodes were also good to watch and better than most of season one and two

SUAD is a poor man's White Bear sorry not sorry

San Junipero was lovely but as far as Black Mirror goes it was pretty cack. It might have worked better for me as a feature length film or something idk, Black Mirror for me always involves a big shock along with something to learn and SJ didn't really have either
Again I'm not slating it because I really did enjoy it, just not as a Black Mirror episode |

White Bear was great and is in the top 3 but it didn't feel like I was given the opportunity/enough time to garner sympathy for the lead, whereas SU&D was far better acted and I genuinely felt sorry/upset for the main character

Jake I agrew SU&D > White Bea

I preferred White Bear because it was much more captivating. The fact that I had no idea what was happening or why it was happening compelled me throughout. Both endings hit me like a ton of bricks, but with Shut Up and Dance I just felt annoyed by the main character's decisions (though I'm guessing that's obviously what Charlie Brooker intended so the ending would make more of an impact) and I didn't care for the other guy at all.
White Bear was a far cleverer concept too. I feel like the scenario that was set-up in Shut Up and Dance had been done quite a few times before. It reminded of that television film, Cyberbully, straight away. Not so much a bad thing, but I felt White Bear's plot was more intriguing. tbh, I didn't really know if I liked either of them straight after watching the episodes because they're both a bit too grim for my liking. Though, in hindsight I think I can appreciate the depth of thought that was put into White Bear. |
The ending of White Bear where you hear the kid.. that stayed with me for ages :\

SUAD is far superior to White Bear, might be saying this because my whole hosue watched SUAD and then White Bear, we were all completely shocked and moved by SUAD that we didn't know what to do. So we decided to watch another episode to forget about it, and so we watched 'White Bear', even after watching that episode all we could think about was SUAD, it was far more powerful, and maybe by watching it prior to 'White Bear', made 'White Bear' seem more weak/tame - but SUAD pulled at heart strings and the character development was FAR better, and the twist was not seen at all - whereas 'White Bear' some people in the room predicted what was occurring, and many said the second half of the episode got a bit repetitive.

Yeah, I'd say that's one of the things that stands out from SU&D for me too, the acting was excellent.
Lenora Crichlow could never. |
Jake to get me a new laptop for spilling this tea everywhere?

I'd read that season 4 wasn't happening until next year, so that's a pleasant surprise <3
