I swear CBB13 averaged 3.07m and CBB15 averaged 3.09m

That's what it says on Wikipedia anyway. And it says both averaged 3.1m

I've gone off what it says on BBspy and calculated the officials to make sure they were correct.

Does football get a lot of ratings?

Jake. 09-01-2016 09:14 AM

9pm: 1.72m (7.4%)
10:30pm: 1.55m (9.2%)

Lip Sync Battle started very strongly for Five - 1.60m (8.2% share).

Will. 09-01-2016 09:22 AM

Oh that's quite low  No +1 yet.

Great rating for Lip Sync Battle.

Will. 09-01-2016 09:27 AM

I don't think they should continue with the split eviction thing.

RichardG 09-01-2016 11:23 AM

Didn't BB14 evictions get similar ratings to those? :worry:

Sallie's got 1.9

Will. 09-01-2016 11:34 AM

Celebrity Big Brother 17 Ratings!

Launch night - 2.81M (14%)

Lowest launch figure for Jan CBB. Up against Silent Witness.

Day 1 - 2.19M (9.9%)

A good rating for the first highlight show, beat CBB11 and 13, not as high as 15.

Day 2 - 2.04M (9.4%)

Ok! Nearly beat CBB11.

Is this with +1?

Jake. 09-01-2016 11:38 AM

no

Jason. 09-01-2016 11:58 AM

So the first week has averaged 2.1m in overnights. (I'll update once last nights +1 come in), but I doubt it'll change much.

http://i.imgur.com/wd0WmhK.png

CBB15 first week (first 3 days Wednesday - Friday) - 2.71m
CBB13 first week - 2.48m

Will. 09-01-2016 12:05 PM

I've no idea what tonight will get, considering highlights show are getting more than evictions so far.

Maybe 1.9, IDK.

Ross. 09-01-2016 12:06 PM

There's been one eviction lmao

Jason. 09-01-2016 12:07 PM

It's Saturday (the day which always rates the lowest). I'm thinking 1.4m tbh

Stating the obvious, go on?

Will. 09-01-2016 12:08 PM

CBB15 first Saturday: 2.25M
CBB13 first Saturday: 1.85M
CBB11 first Saturday: 2.07M

I'll say 1.5-7 with +1.

CBB13's ratings were actually lower than CBB11's till it became awesome and grew as the series went along <33

The only days were it decreased upon the previous week were Wednesday and Thursday in week 2>3.

the second and third week averaged 2.3-4M

Ratings went through the roof in the last few days, with overnights of 2.8-3M

The final week averaged 2.8M overnight.

Jason. 09-01-2016 12:16 PM

CBB11 actually rated quite well for a crap series. Especially the launch and final (both of which rated higher than CBB15's - the highest rated series of CBB on 5). Like 0.6m more people watched Rylan's win than Katie Price's

iirc, didn't it snow A LOT during CBB11 like in the UK, that probably helped ratings as more people probably stayed indoors during the snow, idk.

Yeah it snowed during Kathy Beale's eviction and she went via the diary room. I remember those days, it felt so wintery and cosy <3

It averaged 2.3M overnight, hopefully CBB17 can get there.

daniel-lewis-1985 09-01-2016 10:34 PM

Ouch very poor rating especially for such a controvercial eviction!

This series isn't really doing anything for me i'll be honest it needs something it just doesn't have the magic that CBB15 and the summer series had and I usually hate the summer series!

Jason. 09-01-2016 10:37 PM

IA. CBB15 was full of action this time last year. Wasn't Jeremy ejected like exactly this time last year on the first Saturday of the series

*mazedsalv** 09-01-2016 11:21 PM

The only small potential positive is IF it got a large +1 rating for it's 9pm episode, but you know... meh. Maybe FA Cup (IF there are lots of footie fans watching this series) dented it.

I reckon it got 1.90m with +1, if it did, then that's like 2.3m officially, which isn't great, but it's not terrible.

Tonight would do terrible obviously because being a Saturday, coming off the back of last night which people have a bitter taste about and TV clashing with it (even though it was a tiny 5 mins).

I cant even see it getting 1.3m. But tomorrow back up to 1.9m levels.

People are right about the last January series.

CBB9 is currently the lowest rated winter series which an official average of 2.6m (2.2m overnight im sure), CBB11 had 2.8m (2.3m overnight), no idea how because it was an awful series bur like someone said I remember as I was in 2nd year of uni and the weather was awful.

I remember everyone staying round my friends house watching Gillian's eviction because we couldn't even open the front door to go out! :joker:

Then I think CBB13 is the one which should be praised more in the long run. It increased week by week and got a great reaction. It was also the first time since BB7 where the final was watched more than the launch.

CBB15 had an incredible start. Jeremy was ejected on the Friday (shown on Sat) and that rated 2.25m which was a record for Saturday, then Ken was ejected and then the next Saturday, another record when 2.54m tuned in.... on a Saturday! Just does prove that if people wanted to watch CBB on a Saturday, they would.

Other Saturday ratings that did well for being on that day was Luisa v Dappy row in CBB13 and that night in CBB14 when everything happened... "you stinking French s***!"

*mazedsalv** 10-01-2016 12:21 AM

From Liam Hamilton on Twitter.

Alesha Dixon 'robs' #DavidWalliams in UK premiere of #LipSyncBattle on Channel 5, watched by 1.7m at 10pm between 2 #CBB eps - 1.9m & 1.6m

These include +1, Prof Green said 1.8m, but Liam usually gets accurate figures. Anyway for a C5 night getting 1.5m+ is unheard of so great for them. It may not be great BB but they helped LSB a lot.

Big Brother Part 1- 1.9m
Lip Sync Battle- 1.7m
Big Brother The Interview- 1.6m

Jason. 10-01-2016 12:23 AM

CBB13 :flutter:

CBB15 did well and could've rated even higher had it not been for the final week.

Briancbbfan 10-01-2016 12:28 AM

Hi all I had to make an account because there's something I think a lot of you are not taking into account on these rating threads

In Ireland celeb big brother is now shown on TV3 which is one of the main 3 channels in Ireland really. I can't remember when it started broadcasting but I think it was the normal series which Chloe Wilburn won.

Now up until this point ALL Irish viewers watched the show on Channel 5 and many of us on Sky couldn't record it (as you have to manually add the channel) which meant we were watching the show live on channel 5.

This CBB and the last CBB have been on TV3 and ratings have been quite good at around 300-400k while it isn't massive it doesn't include people who record...

Just a thing to take into consideration that all Irish viewers watch the show on a different channel now :)?

Welcome :D

Also, that's a good point. If 300k watch on TV3, those people were most likely watching on C5 before BB16.

Channel 5 (inc +1)
21:00 - Celebrity Big Brother: 1.46m (6.7%)

*mazedsalv** 10-01-2016 10:08 AM

Other Sat ratings for the last 5 series (both winter and summer)

CBB12- 1.64m
CBB13- 1.85m
CBB14- 1.69m
CBB15- 2.25m
CBB16- 910,000

A bit worrying it could only beat CBB16 (by a lot though!), if it was around 250k higher than it would have been much better.

Tonight 1.8-1.9m?

Jason. 10-01-2016 11:19 AM

It's worrying that CBB12 and CBB14 (summer CBB's) saturday's both got higher than last nights Saturday rating :worry:

Ross. 10-01-2016 11:29 AM

That's a really low figure for The Voice too, around a million down from last year.

Decent rating for CBB considering it's strange decline this week

Mrmattybeck 10-01-2016 12:08 PM

It seems all shows reality TV especially is struggling at the moment

The genre is dying out.

Jason. 10-01-2016 02:37 PM

TV viewership is decreasing nowadays. Especially in the past year. Didn't someone on here say that TV viewership in 2015 had dropped by about 14% compared to the previous year. Hence why most reality shows/TV shows in 2015 didn't rate as well/rated lower than they did in 2014 (XF, BB, Summer CBB, TA, IAC, etc)

Good point, however Irish people (myself included) who watched on Channel 5 wouldn't have been counted in ratings as we aren't in the UK.

However I suppose it means that Big Brother is being watching by another 100,000+ people, even if they're not counted (in the UK)

I'm not sure it would be as high as 300,000 people to be honest, and its nearly impossible to get figures here :(

No its not Geordie Shore is still doing well as is Ex On The Beach and IAC.

Fact is CBB and BB have lost viewership simple as that.
