Turns out that live streaming links of Australian TV shows aren't quite so easy to find as first thought, especially since Channel Ten's official streaming site is currently utterly useless, with or without a VPN

(but I'm sure some kind soul will upload the episode shortly after it's finished)

Yeah, I ended up torrenting it too, so if there aren't any links available yet then that'll do

Thoughts below:

Spoiler:

-It was actually a really great premiere! I enjoyed the American-ness of it all, but also the little touches that the US show doesn't do anymore, like the full title sequence and the longer clips of camp life rather than just jumping into strategy and idols and blindsides and big moves!!!. The editing's still slightly one-sided, but considering there are 24(,000) of them, it could have been a lot worse and I'm sure it'll balance out in future eps
-Jonathan (LaPaglia, not Firewire) was a tad rusty and was clearly trying hard to be a Probst clone, but he'll get into his stride soon enough I imagine
-Vavau are already the best tribe and I won't hear anything against them (shelter-breaking icons <3)
-Speaking of Vavau, I'm a little worried about Sue-Nami already getting the #GettingItDoneAt71 edit in the very first episode :worry:
-Saanapu were there too
-Aganoa suck apart from Kat and maybe Phoebe :/ But they look set to be the Matsing/To Tang/insert other dysfunctional tribe here so it's all good
-Kat beating Des <3 It was a pretty iconic one episode rivalry, peaking in Des' Crystal/Randy levels of shouting his vote <3 <3 <3
-I've got a good feeling about this season, which means I'll be hating every single person by episode 4, but it'll be so worth it

ok MB I just finished the episode (I started it later than I said)

First of all I really enjoyed this

I'm sad Des left because I was actually lowkey here to see more Des v Kat. But initially, the refusing to do anything at the start because he didn't want to waste any energy so early on and then shouting at them how to do something properly was so iconic :love: Speaking of Kat she has the potential to be a legend.

I don't really know anything of the other tribes, because there's so many of them it's hard to get a proper judge on them all.

I'm glad I had some faith in this, because really, what other show can take the most obvious first boot in the world and briefly convince you that they're not even being voted out? Des shall live on forever in our hearts <3

what's the deal with this show? I know it's 55 days but how many episodes per week and how long is each episode? I'm considering watching but it all depends on those things bc school's start soon and I'm not sure whether it's worth investing in.

What he said, and so far it's looking really promising (and also very much like the US version, just with double the cast and days and with a host a quarter of Jeff's age), so it really just depends how much Survivor you want taking over your life over the next few months

From what I've heard, it'll be 20-something episodes overall so it wouldn't necessarily be difficult to catch up later on if the schedule's a bit too full to fit it in

Just finished watching the premiere and I'm really really impressed so far. Great cast, good production - right up there with the US version. :clap1: LaPaglia is a very good host for this, I thought he did a great job. Oh and I love that they're using Ancient Voices for the theme song and that they are showing a full intro. They're doing things properly <3
