but in Hackney, London many poor folk sold
their homes as they went up in price.
The people that moved in were not poor

yes, the bay area has the same housing problem, that's why where i live has boomed recently, all the san francisco people are moving to where i live, Oakland. and of course people are complaining about gentrification. but it's just normal people looking for affordable housing. I've been here for 10 years, and when i moved in i was the only white person in my building.

I don't personally think things like this will necessarily change anything, but I still think there's merit in it... even if they are only doing it just to make themselves feel better (which I don't personally believe is the case for most protesters), I think they should be allowed that anyway considering we have a society that allows for them to be victims. It's fair.
And I don't think this particular protest was obstructive, they were even giving them cookies and water :laugh: and called it a "great event". So I don't think they went to far with it.
