February was the last time I had it, I remember because it was me birthday. I don't get it as much nowadays then what I used to. Ever since I invested in a Hat, Scarf, Gloves, Long Johns and a warm coat.

This.....I used to get terrible colds but since I stopped.smoking years ago, I never get them now. (Watch me wake up with one tomorrow now, karma for bragging).

Voted yes to this poll long ago but can't remember doing so or remembering the context of when :joker:.

I do have a little bit of a one right now, and it seems to be approaching the three year anniversary of this thread starting and I can confirm that, at least in Ireland, it seems to definitely be a common thing that happens around these months.

I'm just at the tail end of a cold. I felt like **** for a couple of days with a sore throat, constantly sneezing, stuffed up nose etc. I think it's because I went out on Saturday night and it pissed it down tbh.

That’s actually a sure fire way to get one

JerseyWins 11-10-2019 05:07 PM

This thread seems to always come up when I’m sick :joker: Been sick with bronchitis (and getting fevers and massive headaches) the past two weeks but last week is when it was really bad so I even missed 2 1/2 days of work from it. Not too bad this week / today in particular

smudgie 11-10-2019 05:14 PM

Nope.
Had my flu jab on Tuesday.
Never been one for catching colds, but a bout of flu would see me off:hehe:

Happens to me too lmao

I've had a cold on and off for the past week or so (seems to be fine now though) and I've been getting headaches as well

Get better soon!!! :dazzler:

Morgan. 11-10-2019 10:27 PM

Starting to feel one coming at the moment :(

Wizard. 11-10-2019 10:33 PM

I’ve got a cold but that’s probably from going out at night sucking dick in the bushes in the bloody rain!

LaLaLand 11-10-2019 11:00 PM

I heard today that they either have started or will be starting to give flu jabs in schools?

Its a nasal spray. My son has had it every year since Reception. Its optional but they advise you to let them have it

Crimson Dynamo 11-12-2019 03:44 PM

Yes I'm under the cosh but struggling on. Iv had a lemsip and that has made me feel better. Once I get home later I will pour a medicinal glass of Auchetoshan to alleviate my chronic symptoms :(

My chest sounds like a barrel full of chains and coarse gravel.

Marsh. 11-12-2019 03:50 PM

Lemsip is just expensive paracetamol.

Yup.

My doctor told me not to waste money on them or cough bottles

Jessica. 11-12-2019 10:19 PM

I have a little head cold. It's not making me suffer too much, it's just inconvenient.

Strictly Jake 11-12-2019 10:20 PM

Mine keeps disappearing for 2 days and then coming back. Just as I thought I was getting better again i have a rattly chesty cough!!

What's Asda got to do with it? :joker:

Make your own hot water and lemon and take a paracetamol. Qualified doctors advise that Lemsip makes NO difference.

no, its an acceptable form of it rather than try to swallow 2 pills that have been coated in NASA grade throat sticking glue

what the f is up with paracetamol that they cant be like ibuprofen in the oral swallow market??

anyhoo day 3 and i feel better, even tho i went to be at 4 and got up at 9. I dont feel ill i just have a hacking cough and a sore throat.

Te TL is reporting lots of her sneezing at work and is looking to blame me:worry: and when i said better to get it now than Christmas she did not appreciate my logic

The Slim Reaper 13-12-2019 01:53 PM

Liquid night nurse is the way to go.

Twosugars 13-12-2019 01:57 PM

Ask for paracetamol tablets NOT capsules.
Capsules of any drug can stick in your throat and start dissolving there.
Another way is to chase them with a bite to eat like an apple, to make them go down

So they say. Elevates the risk of a heart attack.
But then again you have to die of something so

I take it too

Vanessa 13-12-2019 03:50 PM

Yep :bawling:

LaLaLand 13-12-2019 07:43 PM

I've got another one now! Got over the last one which I think was viral - then the day before yesterday I was caught in a rainstorm in town (it was freezing/icy anyway) and am now full of it again! Coughing and spluttering, sneezing, hot and cold etc. Blergh!

JerseyWins 14-12-2019 08:24 PM

Finally not sick when I've noticed this thread. *it's probably coming* :worry:

Crimson Dynamo 14-12-2019 08:29 PM

I'm still IL but on the mend

Jessica. 23-10-2023 02:44 PM

Bump

I am just getting over being in bed for days with covid. Anyone else ill?

Redway 23-10-2023 02:46 PM

I have to agree with what was said earlier this page re. tablets >> capsules. Capsules definitely are more liable to get stuck in your throat and generally they just don’t go down as well.

I had a bit of something last week but I’m mostly over it now. Thanks to CBD, Ibuprofen and greens.

Yeah, I've had plenty times where I almost felt like I had a chemical burn in my throat from a capsule getting stuck there, it's horrendous.

Niamh. 23-10-2023 02:49 PM

Nope haven't had a cold in ages
