Keep kneeling at the shrine, your prayers will be answered.

Wait wait wait...

So LT has stopped posting, went into invisible mode so that people would think he had left, but secretly was on all the time lurking and reading, then saw this thread where Niamh outed him as a lurker, and immediately went offline completely?

:joker::joker::joker: ****ing creased. LT you are a legend.

Kizzy 18-03-2017 11:55 AM

Well just to let you all know I'm working 5 nights from tonight...just to save any shrine construction.

There won't be much to moderate soon as everyone will be singing from the same political hymnsheet. :hee:

You say that from the point of never having been banned, I'd imagine most people would throw in the towel at some point if they were banned every five minutes. What would be the point in remaining?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 19-03-2017 02:46 PM

maybe if he didn't keep breaking the rules he wouldn't get banned

You'd only get banned every 5 minutes if you fail to abide by the rules each time you come back...

We have mods with a variety of views and outlooks, if you get banned and it isn't taken back it's not a mistake and the other mods agree with it.

It's foolishness to blame other people for your own actions, the rules haven't changed in years and most people who are frequently banned should know better.

Cherie 19-03-2017 03:15 PM

well whatever, well done in killing off SD though, job done.

Again, you're blaming other people for your friends' actions. Did anyone force them to be insulting towards other people? To troll and bait? To generally break the rules they agreed to follow when they signed up years ago? No, they made the choice to do so and SD hasn't been affected at all by people leaving in a flounce because they can't accept responsibility for themselves.

Who are you speaking for, yourself? Has LT or anyone else made you feel unwelcome in SD ?

thesheriff443 19-03-2017 10:05 PM

Look a sneaky police Sargent once shouted at me to get off my phone while stuck in traffic i shouted at him to go f his mother i went on a course and it cost me 97 pound but that was the best 97 pounds i have ever spent.
Lt has been on the wind up for a while now, if you cant take it don't give it.
I think this is great forum, full of different people, if you stay within the rules you wont get banned.

thesheriff443 19-03-2017 10:08 PM

From me who was always getting banned.

People don't get banned for nothing, surely you can see that regardless of how friendly you are with him...

Banning isn't the problem, its when it isn't consistent across the board that an issue arises, and I am not even that friendly with LT, I enjoyed his posts and he made me laugh, he will be a big miss as is Kirk and BOTs

Members get automatically banned when they reach a certain number of infraction points, breaking the first threshold will get you a day ban and then they get more severe as they go on. The amount of points you get per infraction depends on what you've done and whether or not you break the rules on a regular basis. Someone who is constantly breaking the rules will hit those ban thresholds in a short amount of time as opposed to someone who only rarely breaks the rules. There's some exceptions to that of course but they tend to be rare.

Your friends get banned more often because they maintain a high infraction score while other SD regulars aren't really that close to being banned because they don't break the rules as frequently. The system is consistent, you just didn't understand it.

I was banned the other day for build up of infractions though but my infraction was reversed but not the ban?

Thank you for explaining all that so eloquently it still doesn't explain why you have never been banned though

Yeah and there's a great skill in taking it right to the brink and then backing off, then going back in again, and each time you get that little bit closer to a ban, and then you back off again, and it can be frustrating, but in that good way y'know? So on you go, back and forward, sometimes pushing it so close to the limit that you worry you've passed the point of no return so you have to grip that little bit harder, back off for that little bit longer, because you know that the pay off - when you finally do get banned - it'll be the most explosive ban yet.

I think they call it "edging" or something like that.
