..it just feels with ShaneJ that if he speaks about things that are important to him and a big part of his life..it’s all me, me, me and hush up will you..but if he ‘assumes’ to speak and represent a wider community beyond the me, me, me thoughts..it’s how very dare you, just speak for yourself really ...so can’t really do right for doing wrong......

Shane J is fighting an imaginary battle in his head and he's losing , only Malika his fellow mean girl is on his side. The other hm's don't have time for arguments and repetitive BS . Shane J needs to wake up and smell the coffee, he's not the only one who's had struggles or who's faced problems. And why did he bring up the abortion argument !! he's literally attacking all Ann's views for the sake of it . |

You could say that about just about any group, not everyone is going to be politically active, or go on marchs or whatever, they have the right to live their lives as they please, Shane J is trying to ram his views down their throats, it is not a good look. |

He answered some questions on a subject he feels strongly about. He quoted some facts about a member of the house. He was shouted at. Repeatedly. And not giving any room to respond. |

Loved what Amanda said. Don't see any problem with it. ShaneJ needs to stop forcing his opinions down people's throats and expecting people to react or back him. Amanda loves Ann for who she is, not what she believes in. She made that very clear. And Ann is entitled to those beliefs. So what. She does not have to agree to gay marriage. They didn't arrest/imprison everyone who opposed it when the vote went out y'know!
She is a staunch catholic - and I imagine most of her opinions come from the church. They have opposed abortion and gay marriage. Who the f' are we to tell them they can't believe what they choose to believe. (For the record, yes, I do think they're wrong - but why are my views superior to theirs?) I respect what others want/choose to believe. Gay anything - let alone marriage - was illegal in Ann's day. In fact, it was illegal in my bloody day (in Scotland - until 1980!!! Nineteen effin' eighty! The '80s feels like yesterday to me!). I don't believe it makes Ann homophobic. Amanda to win. It's refreshing. |

If my family (some of whom live in the US) started supporting Trump I would distance myself. Not before doing my best to convince them otherwise. |

If she was homophobic she would not want to mix with gay people. No? Wouldn't she just be avoiding them?
Didn't know there was a textbook on it :hehe: |
..I think what Shane J was trying to convey is that it’s only politics/legislation that has enabled some to be able to have the equality to live their lives how they want to...ok, he might have not expressed that in the best of ways but I feel his frustration also about something that’s been essential to the living of some lives...

And homophobia can be many things. One being exactly what Anne tried to do as a politician which was the removal that of basic human rights of a person based on their sexuality. Which are views she stands by and defends to this day. |

Okay I'm done, you would disown your family for their political views, yet you want full acceptance for yours  |

Wasn't talking about civil rights - was talking about 'textbook on homophobia'.
In what way did Ann try to remove the basic human rights of a person based on their sexuality? By not approving gay marriage? Why is she not entitled to believe that? Like I said - a lot of her reasoning is because of her religion, and the fact those who opposed it have NOT all been jailed. As for disowning family because they share different (MAJORITY actually I hasten to add!) views to you, well, that's your prerogative. Sounds very controlling and like a dictatorship to me though! Wasn't that how Hitler started...? |

And in the extreme surcumstance thst my family would support someone like Trump then i think as a gay man I’d have every right to disown them. |

I don't see how someone can say 'you have to have the same views as me or I'll disown you'. Trump was voted in by a majority. It's like the people on FB who say 'if you didn't vote for Corbyn, I'm deleting you off my FB friends list'. Not exactly democratic, is it. Sounds very much like a dictatorship to me. |

To just say NOPE IM DONE WITH YOU over something as nuanced as voting habits is a bit ... silly |

You obviously cannot see that your comment which I quoted was contradicting what you're saying, so be it. I am not here to explain further to you if you're confused. Bored now. |
