I would doubt they chose her for her presenting career if i was being cynical?

this exactly how i also thought about it, and she does seem such a sweetie and very likeable, the sob story could only hurt her chances at doing well with the public i think

Katie should let her dancing do the talking, especially since she is a fan of the show, she should show that a lot on it takes two and social media let the people know how you're doing at rehearsals, same how Susan Calman handled that last year, the strictly fans like this from one of their own superfans :)

Even if she does talk about the horrific attack I see no problem with it personally - to go through something so life changing is bound to impact you even years later.

That is why I was disgusted with people moaning about Alex talking about her mum and Debbie her husband - why shouldn't they discuss their loved ones?

It's just it's not an appropriate show to be talking about these events imo.

It is actually the most appropriate

It is the biggest show on TV which is watched by all generations so if they could get the message out there not only to the attackers but the victims that is a massive thing

:umm2:

Of course it's going to be discussed due to all of the work and documentary making she's done since about these kinds of attacks.

It will obviously be mentioned, and too right it should too.

I think it influences the public perception of the contestant too much, and it ruins the competition.

I feel that BB is the more appropriate show to go on for this sort of thing as it is a social experiment, well it's meant to be anyway.

Yes, but more casually than as a die hard fan.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Are you winding up? I couldn't make it anymore clearer if I tried.

Strictly is meant to be lighthearted fun, where as BB is meant to be more about the contestants personalities and their personal lives, therefore it's the more appropriate place to talk about serious subjects such as acid attacks imo.

Btw I have nothing against her, it's just I want her to be a fun contestant.

I really don't think Katie is going to hijack the show and turn it into an acid attack documentary. However, it will quite obviously be mentioned in her VTs as it's a very large part of her story.

You'd complain about the same thing giving her a "sympathy vote" on CBB/BB so I feel you're fibbing with that one.

That's what doesn't make sense.

You didn't know who she was half an hour ago.

Oh you're right that I wouldn't like her doing it on BB, but I still feel that it works better on BB than it ever will on Strictly imo.

Having said that though if she comes off likeable and gives me the most fun performances then I could still like her.

The odd mention early on in the series I'd accept a lot more than mentioning it every week though like Jahmene Douglas did about his dead Brother on TXF which got very warped in my view.
