I think that's pretty harsh Shaun, its one thread and a pretty talked about topic in the media and something adam obviously is invested in. Its no weirder than a million other celeb threads and pretty topical tbh as its still unfolding on the main news channels etc?!

Plane has been found in the channel

(Also not too sure why this is in sports instead of SN&D but ok)

bc football is a sport, and the one of the missing persons is a footballer

Cherie 04-02-2019 08:22 AM

They were surprised to find the plane virtually intact, it must have gone down fast, those poor guys

Denver 04-02-2019 10:41 AM

One body has been found intact in the plane, not yet confirmed whose

Shaun 04-02-2019 10:45 AM

Hopefully this comes as some form of closure to his family :(

Niamh. 04-02-2019 10:45 AM

awww it was always a long shot that they would have survived anyway. Atleast their families will have closure though :(

Denver 04-02-2019 10:51 AM

I'm not sure I agree with all the media using a picture of the plane on the sea bed in the headlines

Why? It’s only like images of the Titanic on the seabed/Grenfell burning/the twin tours collapsing?

I guess but I feel it's to soon after being found

People demand proof though. The families of both men will have been advised first. Grenfell etc was shown when still burning and people dying inside. Unfortunately the thirst for proof and evidence is too strong to just tell the story of what has happened (as evidenced in other threads on here at the moment).

Its reported there is one body still inside the wreckage, I would assume the pilot but I hope they recover the other body for the family too. Very sad

Thank you captain obvious but I’d argue it’s for serious news more than sports

But anyway

Cherie 04-02-2019 12:22 PM

I read a very sad piece yesterday claiming he was quite happy at Nantes and that it was his agent and Club who forced the move as he would have been out of contract in 18 months and whilst Cardiff had the player insured it was only for the value of the transfer and that another 15 million will be lost to agent, transfer and other fees

If it is the pilots body in the plane is it possible he suffered some form of episode, heart attack or something as he had requested permisson to descend prior to the aircraft losing contact

could be a possible scenario, cause if a sudden heart attack or episode plane lost control without warning or mayday call

Smithy 07-02-2019 09:52 PM

Confirmed that the body is of Emiliano

Denver 07-02-2019 09:54 PM

Such sad news but glad his family have peace of mind

Mitchell 07-02-2019 10:11 PM

Sad, but at least it gives them closure

caprimint 07-02-2019 10:30 PM

So so sad, RIP Emiliano :(

Shaun 08-02-2019 01:25 AM

Horrible. Hope the pilot is found and the search isn't just suspended because the celebrity victim has been found, though.

Yeah was thinking that too, for that reason I hoped it was the pilot

Me too. Glad one of them have been found but the pilot's family need the closure too.

RIP

Cherie 08-02-2019 07:45 AM

Very sad but hope they continue until they find the pilot

Strictly Jake 08-02-2019 08:11 AM

Awww I mean it's unfortunately obvious that he died but the fact they found his body confirms it to the family but at least they have closure and can put him to rest. RIP

Nicky91 08-02-2019 08:40 AM

RIP Emiliano :(

seems fishy though, is it really him, or did they say this to give family closure sorry to ask these questions, but i wonder how they have confirmed it was him

was there DNA confirmation it was Emiliano?

Why? They would have confirmed it with dental records. I would say it would be highly illegal and extremely unethical to pretend they found him :skull:

yeah true, and hope the search keeps going on, for the pilot for also closure for his relatives/loved ones

Nicky91 08-02-2019 09:16 AM

i'd say Cardiff should pay Nantes the transfer money anyway, since he did sign the contract there in Cardiff, and this isn't breach of contract but more a sad tragic accident

if they didn't sign him, he wouldn't have gotten on this plane and probably still playing for Nantes as we speak

not pointing blame at cardiff as this was a tragic accident, more the blame at whoever wanted Emiliano to fly with such a small untrustworthy airplane as he said on whatsapp ''feels like the plane is breaking up'' so it wasn't in a good condition this plane, and yet they told him it was safe enough to fly in this plane

Mystic Mock 08-02-2019 10:47 AM

RIP Emiliano Sala.

Hopefully the Pilot will be found, and hopefully a small chance that he might be alive.

Such a tragic incident will not be forgotten by me personally as it could've been so easily avoided.

I read he didn't even want to move, he was happy at Nantes and had been there since he was 15, it was a move driven by the Club as he was out of contract in 18 months and his agent

oh, and if he was so long at Nantes, couldn't they just have offered him a new contract

but we can talk about this all we want, i just am feeling more sad when i do, so let's not discuss the ifs anymore

don't want to feel sadder than i already am about this tragedy

Eddie. 08-02-2019 11:47 AM

Such a promising life cut short :(

That's why I won't EVER fly on small planes...

I am not discussing 'ifs' I was just responding to you saying it was his dream

he was scoring goals and was 28 so it was time to sell him and make a profit
