I don't want negativity, I hope this is successful for you, I just wanted to take part but I'll take that.

Wizard. 20-08-2019 07:10 PM

And thanks Alf but you can have your spot back I don't want a song you've chosen (no offence, you have great taste).

Josiah. 20-08-2019 07:13 PM

Once again, to access the video, click the picture in Post #80.

Riley, I am extremely sorry for the conflama this evening.

Wizard. 20-08-2019 07:15 PM

I haven't chosen any song. That's what I mean when I say, I don't know how this game works.

Are you absolutely sure you don't want my spot? Your welcome to it if you want.

Josiah picked songs for like 5 of the countries

Strictly Jake 20-08-2019 09:14 PM

Josiah this is really awesome. Its also so different and so great for the forum! I hope you have a lot of success with votes and that this comes back because its great

Amy Jade 20-08-2019 09:22 PM

I picked mine for Australia

Wizard. 20-08-2019 09:37 PM

That literally makes no sense

Josiah. 20-08-2019 11:04 PM

I chose the songs for Canada, Denmark, Ireland, the UK, and the US mainly to save time for some people like Tom who take months to send in a song.

But in terms of voting, I have graciously received the points from 2 countries.

Josiah. 21-08-2019 03:25 AM

Just in case people didn't realise that they could click on the photo in Post #80, here's the direct link to the video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AY...keYT7pjnSLk4lp

And here's the Spotify playlist:

Ammi 21-08-2019 05:33 AM

...so we submit two sets of votes of how we would score the songs ...but they both have to be different, Josiah...is that what you’re saying...?...

Nicky91 21-08-2019 07:15 AM

great songs :clap2: all of them actually, also good bit of diversity

hope everyone was bopping to my Ghana song

and now the hardest bit, the voting

Nicky91 21-08-2019 07:26 AM

my Ghana jury members are

Abraham Attah - award winning child actor

Wendy Shay - Afropop and Afrobeat singer

Teddy Osei - veteran afromusic singer, founder of Osasiba (which has its 50th anniversary this year)

Strongman K - recording artist and songwriter/producer

DJ Mensah - DJ, Entrepeneur, recording artist (Head of Ghana Jury)

Josiah. 21-08-2019 12:24 PM

Yes Ammi.

Josiah. 21-08-2019 03:35 PM

From all countries that have voted so far (Brazil, Denmark, and Ghana), I received only the jury points from Ghana, so if I could receive the Ghanaian televoting points.

Ammi 21-08-2019 03:55 PM

...I watched the vid again...it really is wonderfully put together, Josiah...the voting is very harsh because there will only be one song that no points can be given for...we can only vote for 10 of the 11 songs that aren’t our own..?...

Liam- 21-08-2019 04:17 PM

I’ll do my scores tonight

EscapismIsAnotherPrison 21-08-2019 04:34 PM

Netherlands

Why so few participants? Can we tag people, or something like that?

Oh, I see.. I'm way too late! Well, maybe next time.

Nicky91 21-08-2019 04:54 PM

maybe more participants next edition  i Always knew fan contests would work on this forum

Josiah. 21-08-2019 05:08 PM

I am looking at the points right now, and I can most assuredly say that no one has received the dreaded nul points.

Remember, voting closes at 6:00pm GMT on Saturday.

RileyH 21-08-2019 05:10 PM

Wait I'm confused why do the 2 sets of votes have to be different

Josiah. 21-08-2019 05:11 PM

To make sure that people aren't sending the same set of points twice.

RileyH 21-08-2019 05:14 PM

Ok but do they have to be dead different or can I just shuffle a few around

Josiah. 21-08-2019 06:06 PM

Either way is fine Riley.

Liam- 21-08-2019 08:39 PM

The scoring was hard

Josiah. 22-08-2019 01:07 AM

The voting getting even more interesting. Again, no nul points to be seen.

The country currently placing last in the jury voting has 4 points, and the country currently placing last in the televoting has 6 points.

Remember, even if you did not choose a country or a song; you can still send in your 2 sets of points.

Josiah. 22-08-2019 01:12 AM

Once again, here's the Spotify playlist:

T* 22-08-2019 09:01 AM

Oh bugger I thought we had to have the songs in by the 24th I’m sorry

EscapismIsAnotherPrison 22-08-2019 11:11 AM

Sorry guys, but Popjustice Song Contest is so much better.

After a quick google, I see it happens monthly. This forum is simply not active enough for it to happen monthly. Josiah got less than 20 participants for this one (although now people know how it works they’ll be likelier to compete, I know I will) but there’s simply not enough active members to warrant this happening monthly unfortunately.

and it isn't just a eurovision game (only voting format is similar to that), anyone on the forum here can compete, with music they like, and as it's with countries from around the world, it's also a good way for people here to get to know artists from lots of countries whose music is for now kinda unknown

i can speak out of experience, since in fan contests i played, i've seen artists pop by who i never heard of before those contests, and i ended up liking several of them

Yeah I did like that part of it, much easier than having to write a song definitley.

I was just unsure if the format, so I wanted to see how it worked first before signing up and committing.

Josiah. 22-08-2019 11:48 AM

No, I am not planning on doing this monthly. That would take too much time. After these first 2 editions, we'll be back to the old TIBB Eurovision dates of May/June and December.

Josiah. 22-08-2019 12:16 PM

Remember, even if you did not choose a country or a song; you can still send in your 2 sets of points (I'm looking at you Morgan).

Josiah. 22-08-2019 03:13 PM

As of last night, I have received the jury points and televoting points of Brazil, Denmark, France, Ghana, and Norway.

Denver 22-08-2019 03:20 PM
