How about a stand up part of the forum where members can try and make others members laugh

Sadly it seems to be much quieter on forums all over the Internet as a whole it's not something exclusive to TiBB imo.

People seem to prefer social media platforms these days than discussion forums similar to people preferring Instagram stories now rather than read blogs etc although if BB was still around we would obviously still have busier seasons rather than a constant off season, I'm not sure if a domain name change from ThisIsBigBrother is something that would help bring in new members if I'm honest.

There's also this (silly if you ask me) trend online nowadays that if someone disagrees with an opinion, has quite strong opinions or just goes against the grain in general they are automatically accused of being insulting and they are labelled with childish names, which just kills any discussion straight out, that sort of thing has affected a lot of discussion forums too I think, there is never going to be a time when everyone agrees on everything, discussion forums wouldn't be a thing if they did.

Personally the bottom paragraph of your post is the reason why I prefer Forums to Social Media platforms in general (although I do like YouTube if that counts) because I find that on Social Media you can just hide in little groups that end up becoming echo chambers. Where as on Forums you can definitely read different opinions to my own which I find fascinating personally (apart from the Rashford bashing for helping feed kids) because obviously a natural Human response would be to commend Rashford rather than condemn him for it.

But personally I appreciate members like LT & Alf on the Forum because I don't agree with them on a lot of things politically, but I appreciate hearing a different perspective to my own.

Also I really appreciated the debate about The Cookout from BBUSA that me and Ashley had recently, because again you can't really get that level of discussion going on Social Media imo because most people like to hide in their own Political groups where everyone agrees with their mindset, which yes it's nice to have people agree with you, but it'd be a boring Internet if everyone agrees with you.

Apologies for the wild tangent.

You could call it comedy central, just in case any fans of that channel are browsing for somewhere to post.

My suggestion is less navel gazing, more positive and proactive posting

Some good ideas here. I've changed some forum names, and made the BB sub-forum titles tidier.

I have thought about a new forum system but the trouble is I wrote a whole article system which links into the current forum that wouldn't work if we changed... Not that the article system is used much - that's why I suggested a while ago that it could be used to publish articles like movie and music reviews but there was no takers.

I do still want to make a new forum theme that is better for small screens.

One of the main reasons to update to vBulletin 5 is that it has extensive native small screen support, but I appreciate that vBulletin isn’t exactly cheap. I had extensive vB 4 experience and still have a license gathering dust but to be honest built-in mobile compatibility wasn’t much better on that than 3. One of my proudest web dev achievements was my custom small screen vb4 skin :joker:. And yet one of my greatest failures. I tried for months to get a PM notification icon working. I had a “private messages” icon at the top and I wanted it to turn yellow when the user had a new PM but I never got it to work :bawling:… it would change the first time they got a new PM after swapping to that skin, but then it wouldn’t change back after they had read it and would just be stuck as yellow ever after :fist:. It still bugs me. Must have been image cache related but I never figured it out. Haunts me.

Same, another reason why the site is failing, people aren’t allowed opinions that criticise higher powers

It’s not a thread about blaming admin it’s about making suggestions to make the forum a better place for everyone

That’s why posts have been removed

Jakes comment wasn't criticism about any tibb staff

And tbf there's plenty of comments aimed at us that gets posted, funny thing is it's not us that are in threads daily insulting and arguing with other members which is what many of you are guilty of and its majorly off putting to others but keep shifting that blame instead of actually adding anything constructive at the same time as constantly criticising.

Crimson Dynamo 26-09-2021 05:03 PM

Like when a really annoying character joins in the middle of a series and takes over as the main character and everyone hates it. Maybe I’m her.

You're Carmel Kazemi being a regular after R&R (Marsh and Scott) have been drowned (banned).

Here I have crafted a visual representation of what happened to Tibb (seen here as a Silo tower) after your victory and then running on to today's date

Some may suggest a correlation?

I reported a post yesterday for blatant homophobia and it’s still there even after said member made an equally homophobic thread from said post which was deleted.

If it's the post I'm thinking of then I actually did delete that but tapatalk sometimes glitches and says post deleted then when you leave the thread and go back in its back. Like I said if it's the post I'm thinking of it's gone now.
