How many Politicians around the world have been involved in dodgy crimes? Yet it feels like Angela Rayner is being harshly singled out imo. And that's if she is even guilty of what she's being accused of. |
Eddie Izzard could pull that off.

[The Tory party chairman has accused Keir Starmer of not doing enough to probe claims about Angela Rayner's property dealings] https://liveblog.digitalimages.sky/l...c0d0941c75.png |
I have thought all along that it was absurd that she claimed she was living apart from her husband and children when they were not separated  If she had just owned up and payed the tax it would be forgotten by now instead she has insisted on lying

Police investigate Labour deputy leader
Angela Rayner over council house sale 4 minutes ago She should pay the £1500 fine. [Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner over the sale of her council house. She has been accused of breaking electoral law by giving false information about her main residence. Ms Rayner denies this and Labour said it remains "completely confident" she has complied with all the rules. The police investigation has been prompted by a complaint from Tory MP James Daly. A police spokesperson said: "We're investigating whether any offences have been committed. This follows a reassessment of the information provided to us by Mr Daly."] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68797258 |
She was registered to vote
from one house only. This is the problem. SkyNewsHD Live. |
Good.
Now with this it may be sorted one way or the other. The Police cannot be accused of any weakness now by really looking into it. She maintains all was in order. The investigation may well result in the police reaching that inclusion. Or of they find wrongdoing it's right it is found to be wrong. They maybe would have been wiser to investigate when the first complaint was made. However, that's where it's at now so that is good. Because if the police do now see nothing wrong after a full investigation. Then the Mail and the Con MP will have to accept that. Just as if the police do find she did anything wrong, then it's up to her to then face the consequences of that. I don't know, we don't know, neither do the police until they've investigated. I hope they can do this as quickly as possible, that shouldn't be too difficult to do. No one, no matter their position or who they are should be above the law. She has the full chance now with the police to show she did nothing wrong. Or they can prove she did. I'm pleased they are to investigate this otherwise it would have tumbled up to and during the election campaign to come. If she's done wrong, she'll need to definitely make a decision on her future. If the police find nothing wrong, it cannot then be raised against her in the election. Personally I don't think the police had any choice after a new complaint being made, to them actually do an investigation. |

Yes Joey Pay up or Not Pay up |
Why was she so determined to keep £1.5k?
I mean, capital gains tax basically is theft, and anyone who can legally avoid it absolutely should. But it doesn't sounds like she used legal avoidance, and for someone prominent in politics, moreover who carps on about doing when the Tories try to keep more of their own money, she should know better. |

Starmer thinks a Line,
will be drawn, After the Police Investigation. |
Except she is actually 'NOT' the Prime Minister nor ever likely to be.
Even without this investigation. In fact at present she isn't even part of a government. Personally I didn't and don't agree with her statement on Johnson. Once he was found guilty then he should have gone right off however. Just as she should if found to have done wrong here. Which up to now, she still hasn't been yet. That's now down to the Police findings. If they find any wrong. |

I get the feeling she certainly has ambitions to be prime minister .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Well she has done right in saying in the last few minutes that she's done nothing wrong.
However if she is found to have broken the law then she will stand down.. That's the right course of action. |

Near all of them really disappointed. Plus rarely do those that may be thought to be possibly good PMs, ever get to be so. Usually the wrong choices are the successful ones. |
Raynor has stated
she will step down if found guilty. |
she should step down for her dress sense
she is a walking midden |

If she's found NOT to have however, perhaps the Con MP who made the complaint to the police should step down too. For making false accusations. |
She called for Boris to step down just for being under investigation. That's called hypocrisy.
|
Although me having said that.
Breaking rules and laws seems to be more a ticket to be PM in recent years. The current PM was actually found by a police investigation to have broken a law too. |

Police are looking into the Location
she was living at, breaking election law. Matters to them. Any Fine comes from the tax office. This is all if she is found Guilty. Ch4HDnews 7PM |
She should have resigned not just as deputy but also as a member of parliament with the "I am resigning so I can clear my name"
She has no honour Labour has no honour Lets have every seat in the next parliament occupied by a Brexit loving Tory. Send Labour to electoral oblivion once and for all!!! |
To be clear
An accusation is enough to require a resignation. No smoke without fire |

Well no actually, police will decide if its worth giving to the crown prosecution, who will then decide if it should be taken further
