I agree…this is so typical of Starmer.

Vanessa 05-05-2024 09:33 AM

They need to do a background check in anyone who comes to the uk. Otherwise things like this will keep happening.

Samurai swords are already banned. You obviously can't carry one on the street and you're not allowed to keep one in your home unless it's a genuine Japanese sword made before 1956, and they're expensive. So unless you're a collector you have no right to have one, and certainly not the knock-ups you can buy online. But I expect they will ban them completely instead of tightening our borders.

If they're going to ban everything that can kill someone, pretty soon we'll have to cut the Sunday roast with a spoon.

bots 05-05-2024 11:39 AM

background information on immigrants is only as good as the information that is shared between countries and as we are no longer in the EU, less information is shared with us. That being said, the intelligence services across europe are piss poor

Yeah, I get that... I'd like to see us more like Australia. And that nutter who stabbed the boy lives in Newham. I come from Newham and I've seen it go from a nice place to grow up, full of working class families with a decent smattering of foreigners to a multicultural slum full of drugs and crime and people handing out Sharia law leaflets.

No need to ban anything just give sentences that send a message/ offer a deterrent

That school boy had headphones on,

this one really upset me at the time it happened. An innocent little lad with a bright future ahead, snuffed out

Ammi 25-06-2025 05:44 PM

…I saw this update earlier, so incredibly difficult for the family to have gone through trial in their grief…and do they have to make victim statements to the court before Friday…?…I hope that the sentencing then is a maximum that can be given…

I think ban people from knifes if they are outside the house. The under 21 thing isn’t working, or what if they tag all knifes? Idk it’s a hard one to think through

All because of some wannabe Samurai weirdo.

trying stop the killer.

Ammi 28-06-2025 06:49 AM

Speaking outside court, his family said:
“This has been a painful and deeply traumatic chapter in our lives. No verdict or sentence can bring back our son Daniel, who we loved so dearly, but we are grateful that justice has been served.
“Daniel was taken from us in a way that no family should ever have to endure. His life had so much potential ahead, he was gifted academically, was kind and had a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him. We carry that light with us, even in this dark time.
“We want to express our deepest thanks to the police, prosecution team, and all those who worked tirelessly to seek the truth. Your dedication has meant more to us than words can convey.
“To everyone who supported us through this ordeal- friends, family, our church, our workplaces, our children’s schools, and even strangers- thank you. Your love and support has been a lifeline.
“We will honour Daniel’s memory not in the shadow on this tragedy, but through the love and happiness that he bought to us and all those who knew him.”

…his family at least feeling some sense of justice in the sentence given to the person who has sentenced them to life of loss and grief…
