Continuing to maintain the publicly stated view that Joost Klein allegedly committed a disqualifying act is without a doubt a defamatory accusation. He who deliberately attacks someone's honour or good name by accusing them of a certain fact with the apparent aim of publicising it, commits the criminal offence of defamation. AvroTros could therefore file a lawsuit of defamation against the EBU.

Especially since the consequence of the disqualification has also manifested itself in the Netherlands and the Netherlands can therefore be regarded as the place where the crime of defamation was committed.

Joost didn't physically hit the swedish camerawomen, but he did knock the camera out of her hand, damaging camera equipment is also a form of assault honestly

but they go ahead, sue the EBU, well we'll soon be cheering on their indefinite ban from the contest then, and their revoked membership from the EBU entirely :fan:
