Tbh sometimes I feel that way aswell, like when Patrick Swayze passed. But Dirty Dancing & Ghost are some of my favourite movies, Ghost now has that added poignancy though.

One which always springs to mind is the one where nobody can sleep. Phoebe and the smoke alarm get me every time.

…yeah, same…the Rachel/Ross thing probably became the least interesting/entertainingthing of the series for me…I loved Monica but Phoebe was always my favourite female character from the start…

…Giovanni Ribisi who played Frank junior is the lead character in a series called Sneaky Pete, which I watched not that long ago….he and the series are both excellent, I’d recommend if you haven’t seen it…

I saw the first season ages ago, I did like it but I think there was only 1 season out at that time and I just forgot about it! He was in something I watched recently too, Contraband

…I don’t think I’ve seen Contraband so I’ll check that out …is it a dramatised series…?…or actual border control…

No it's a film, Its an old one 2012, i just happened to watch it the other day is all and he was in it! It's only OK tbh

I love a lot of the later episodes which Ross carries as well - the sandwich, the leather pants, his fake tan. There were some great episodes with him and Mona too like when she finds out Ross got Rachel pregnant and when he's trying to retrieve his 'salmon' jumper

The apartment switches is one of my faves as is Ross’ sandwich.

Also when they all find out about Chandler and Monica which is another great Ross moment

God, I hated Emily

The most unjustly maligned character, she was treated dirty by Ross and the crew

She was a bit up herself though. But yeah Ross didn't have a leg to stand on.

I didn't think the show was as good overall after Monica and Chandler moved in together, although there was still a lot of great episodes.

I feel like the later seasons still hold up as almost a modern sitcom whereas the earlier ones feel so steeped in the 90s with the fashion, the humour and the lifestyles

I agree some of the jokes from friends wouldn't pass today like:

Joey "if homosapians were in fact homo-sapians...is that why they're exctinct?"
Ross stares in disbelief "Joey homosapians are people!"
Joey "hey I don't judge" hahaha this definitely wouldn't fly today. What gets me is the way Matt Leblanc himself couldn't help but snicker a little when he delivered that line :joker:

Definitely the friendship is a strength. Like if one of them left not sure it would have worked as well. They all fit perfectly as a unit.

Ah sex and the city...that episode when they were all at Miranda's mum's? Funeral, is when I really realised that one reason I loved this show was because of the love they each had for each other...not because Samantha was moaning every week about gherkins :nono:

No disrespect to the 90s! Was a great time as I understand it. Just feels like the difference between the early 90s Friends and the early 00s Friends was much more different than the 00s Friends feels to today.. if that makes sense :huh:
