I gather from his name he is a pretty big fan of the composer Giacomo Meyerbeer. The jewish Meyerbeer used to be a friend and mentor to Wagner, before Wagner turned against him and started writing nasty polemics against Jewish composers. Apart from Meyerbeer, this also included Mendelssohn.

The name Meyerbeer is a name of composer who was born almost 200 years ago?
