This Year's Love is brilliant, and tbh if Paper Planes can win the 2000s (a cute song but hardly the most memorable) I don't see why this shouldn't be in the running for the 90s one

Shaun 21-03-2012 12:16 PM

i didn't say that...

jesus. everyone has a go at me for being a music snob but literally every time in this thread i've been accused of being rude or snobby it's because someone else has provoked me. loads of you have lamented the loss of particular songs but it's always my comments that get quoted.

IheartBB 21-03-2012 12:18 PM

I still can't get over Paper Planes even being considered for song of the 00s. What happened there?

Black Dagger 21-03-2012 12:18 PM

The Cure and Goo Goo's out

I don't really think you're a homeless man :bawling:

Shaun 21-03-2012 12:28 PM

Well you do it in a really inflammatory way, like "this is a disgusting result" and making posts that berate people for voting in a certain way, whereas the rest of us will post something like "I'm gutted that ___ is out, how dare you TiBB :@:@:@:@" and then vote on the next round...

Locke. 21-03-2012 05:09 PM

Goo Goo Dolls and The Cure out in the same round.. both in the top 3 of what was left :bored:

Sixpence None the Richer - Kiss Me
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
David Gray - This Year's Love
Pulp - Common People
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
No Doubt - Don't Speak
Radiohead - Creep
Fugees - Killing me Softly

But yeah, I don't mind who wins now, Iris >

xD

Shaun 21-03-2012 06:00 PM

I texted LemonJam earlier 'cos I thought this would be close and I need all the votes I can get and he voted for all but Deep Blue Something and Cornershop (his precise words were 'Brimful of GASHA and Breakfast at STIFFanys hehe' if you must know)

So savage and inflammatory :(

and, you know, if you want a music snob example.

Shaun 21-03-2012 06:15 PM

rofl are you kidding me

I said LOL and joked about something being so unlikely it'd result in me eating Ann out. Wtaf is threatening about that?

and the David Gray thing was brought up by Niamh, not me  so like I said, if you all hate me being such a snob don't bring it up :conf2:

Z 21-03-2012 06:19 PM

Just tone it down is all I'm asking.. it's really off putting to get a  or an all caps post in response on a regular basis when I, personally at least, participate in one of your music competitions. Not everyone has the same taste as you. Most people are inclined to vote for what they grew up listening to, I don't see what's wrong with that, and I've already discussed my opinion on the "vote for what you hate" round which I think is flawed and is just an excuse for people to weed things out unfairly. And using all those emotes really isn't helping the "I'm not being aggressive" thing... Why should people have to creep around your tendency to flip out at music related posts; why can't you keep it in check instead and let people have their opinion?

Marc 21-03-2012 06:24 PM

:conf: doesn't know if you guys are bantering or serious... I hope it's banter

Z 21-03-2012 06:26 PM

No no, I'm being serious, I'm fed up of getting snide comments about what I like to listen to. His opinion is not better than anyone else's just because he has a more vested interest in music. That's all I've got to say on the matter, no idea if he'll respond or not but that's me done.

Shaun 21-03-2012 06:37 PM

Yeah I'm the one flipping out.

But yeah whatever. I cba. Noone else's pointed out a problem. So I'll just carry on :spin2:
