TiBB Does the Apprentice Task Two Results.
Firstly, here is Sir ShuGrr's summation of Task Two for both teams, including the announcement of the winning Team.
"I really liked the designs that Pioneer came up with - Josy's work was a real coup for them and the overall aesthetics of it all is far superior to the work and designs that Prospect came up with.
However, I think the memorabilia designed by Pioneer seem a bit... conventional. Like someone looked through an Argos catelogue and tried to cater to that market.
Prospect's idea of an app really sealed this decision for me - it's forward thinking, it's interactive with the fans of their team, and modern.
I also think that the thought put into the concepts Prospect came up with was much more thorough and well-reasoned, and had a lot more substance than Pioneer's pretty, but pretty safe designs. In general I wasn't particularly keen on the idea of a fox being closely knit with tennis - all associations with foxes are cunning and sly and not particularly athletic or competitive, and the name of Andy Furry is a little bit of a misnomer when Andy Murray isn't a part of their team, but it's quite fun and playful. I also really didn't like the design of the t-shirts at all, and I think that - and I don't wish to offend you - someone better with graphics could (and perhaps should) have been called upon.
That said - whilst the cow itself and all of the Pioneer designs are aesthetically superior, I thought it was a bit of an obvious choice for a sporting team. I did like the idea of a Top Trumps game, but would've liked maybe a little more from the designs on that: maybe the reverse of the card, with a stronger focus on the Cowes football team and its team identity, would've made it more recognisable.
All in all, both teams made good efforts, and both are comprised of good apprentice candidates, but for this task alone, I have to go with Prospect as the winners."
Congratulations Team Prospect....you have won Task Two, and this will be noted by all judges for future reference. Marc will be around later, he's taking you all to a club, where you can party your little socks off :love:
