Deon Burton is still playing? thought he retired years ago

Locke. 21-07-2013 07:06 PM

Didn't realize Barnsley had signed Dale Jennings, will be a great signing for them

Novo 21-07-2013 07:07 PM

Ah yes the Bayern flop, but lets be honest he had no chance of making it big there

King Gizzard 21-07-2013 07:08 PM

Think he might have had a slight chance, they wouldn't have signed him if they didn't see potential, but he suffered a really serious injury and then just didn't adjust to German life

I would have taken a punt on him here at Villa

Novo 21-07-2013 07:25 PM

looks like he has gone pretty chubby now as well

Bayern just done the easy thing and slapped him into the b team lmao. Serious injury or not, he would never of gotten a chance there.

Locke. 21-07-2013 09:40 PM

Jay Spearing is in talks with Blackburn about a possible move to the Championship side.

He was great in the Championship last season, definitely good enough to do a job in the Premiership, surprised the newly promoted clubs aren't in for him

Locke. 22-07-2013 03:45 AM

"We probably need a wee bit more support at the top end of the field and that's something we'll look out for.

"It's not really about numbers, it's about quality.

"That'll be mixed with needing cover in the left-back position - that's something we're looking at. And we want that extra bit of quality at the top end of the field.

"If we can do that over the next number of weeks we'll be happy."

Rodgers was asked for the latest on Pepe Reina.

"Nothing as of yet," he said.

"The latest was that there was an offer to take him on loan but that's something that hasn't been discussed any further."

Thank god.. I was worried we were ignoring the left back problem

You think United would have publicised two bids with no encouragement from Barca or the player???? Moyes has done in 3 weeks what Fergie couldn't do be bothered to do in 5 years

This is a new era

WHERE YOUTH IS GIVEN A FAIR CHANCE
WHERE ATTACKING PRESSING FOOTBALL IS PLAYED
WHERE BITCHES LIKE ROONEY GET CALLED OUT

Honestly the most excited I have been in YEARS for the start of the season. We may not win as many trophies in the first few years of the transition but at least I know we plan on playing exciting attacking football again which as a fan is just as important as winning trophies. The fact we will also have a midfield next year also makes my balls tingle

Jemal 22-07-2013 02:24 PM

I actually think we will get Fabregas.
Why i say is because we bidded 25m. And Barcelona never officially rejected the bid. Which means it must of been negotiated for us to bid another 30m PLUS add ons. Adds on is key because that shows barcelona must of negotiated a counter offer. I think we may get him.

Ryan57 22-07-2013 02:33 PM

Can't see Fabregas joining. Probably a PR move.

Legend killer 22-07-2013 02:50 PM

PR Move????

Well our whole backroom team should be fired on the spot because bidding pointlessly for a player we have no chance of getting is not going to look good on the club or Moyes

IN MOYES WE TRUST

not so sure myself.. if the club were certain he wasnt leaving they would reject any bids and make it known hes not for sale but instead they are obviously negotiating and waiting for the new manager to see what he wants to do.

Well the team of negotiators should of been sacked after the pathetic attempts at getting Thiago. United fans were mad after that, so what better than going for Fabregas, showing that we have bid and attempted to get a top player. Benzema and Villa et al.

Fabregas just seems so unlikely to me because;

1. I can't see him doing it to Arsenal. Admittedly, nowadays the majority of players don't have loyalty, but I think he does. I may be proven wrong, however.

2. He spent the best part of two summers trying to get this move. He's been there for just two seasons. To want to leave, after all the work to get there, would have made it pointless.

3. With Thiago gone, if he's worried about playing time, that shouldn't be an issue. Xavi is nearing the end of his career.

4. New manager will most likely see a place in his team for him. He'd be an idiot if he didn't.

Hmm, it's a fair point. As you say, they'll probably wait to see what the new manager wants to do. I highly doubt he wouldn't be in any new manager's plans.

1. I can't see him doing it to Arsenal. Admittedly, nowadays the majority of players don't have loyalty, but I think he does. I may be proven wrong, however. He took a pay cut and even payed to get away from them in the first place and one of his best mates in RVP is at United already

He spent the best part of two summers trying to get this move. He's been there for just two seasons. To want to leave, after all the work to get there, would have made it pointless Cold hard truth is there is a world cup coming up and if he realistically wants to be starting those WC games he needs first team club football and new manager or not if you think he is splitting up the Iniesta/Xavi duo you crazy

With Thiago gone, if he's worried about playing time, that shouldn't be an issue. Xavi is nearing the end of his career. Thiago was injured last year yet Fab still didn't get the gametime he will need for a WC starting place. Regardless if he is getting older there is ZERO chance of him and Iniesta being split up any time in the next 3 years the fans would turn on the manager and club just like that

New manager will most likely see a place in his team for him. He'd be an idiot if he didn'tNo doubt warming the bench for Xavi and Iniesta

If/When Barca accept a bit for him it will just show him first hand how much importance they really put on him.

Brother Leon 22-07-2013 03:35 PM

Reality check. We aren't getting him. Moyes and Woodward will get us Cabaye and Felliani just before the season, if even that. Can't believe how much of a joke we have become in the market since Gill departed.
