We never had a chance of doing anything in this World cup without a top class goalscorer. Sturridge has a few good points to his game but he's not a prolific enough goalscorer at this level.

If your gonna win a tournament you need your main centre forward to score at least 5 or 6 goals a tournament.

He had enough chances today and didn't even make the keeper have to work, against the best teams in the World he wont get half the chances he had today so what confidence could you possibly have in him?
