what people say in public and do in private are 2 different things as all the party gate stuff has shown us

The majority of people speaking out now against Boris never liked him, so they have nothing to lose. Cabinet members wont say anything against him until a vote of no confidence brings him down. If they did anything else they would be seen a disloyal. That's the nature of the game. So Andrew Neil won't get anything other than that in his interviews

I’m always surprised when ANY mp speaks out or criticises the leader .. presumably they make a mental note of any detractors

You do realise that’s dictatorship right? Keeping not of anyone that goes against the leader to, I presume, punish them for it?

We are in the real world , of course

Say you were the leader and I was against you on some vital areas -?then I would not expect to rise to any great heights in the party tbh

No point in watching if at least one participant wants him out ...

Not a great starting point for a debate

Boris caught in ANOTHER lie as damning emails prove he DID help Carrie's
friend airlift animal charity out of Kabul

But its not a debate at all if they are all on the same side. Then its just a damage limitation exercise

When one simply wants him out ?
Where’s the damage limitation there ?

there will be the "apologists" too that simply dont think Boris did anything wrong, so provided there is a balance for and against it really doesnt matter.

Also, it doesnt matter what they debate ... if they dont get 54 letters saying they have no confidence it is irrelevant ... even if they did get the 54, they then have to hold a vote and get more than 50% of tory mps that want him out, and thats very unlikely to happen

That would not be a debate though.....if all of them are firmly pro-Boris regardless where is the debate? To be a debate there has to be more than one point of view.

Oh for goodness sake the UK is not a dictatorship.

How’s he going to punish them? Serve them with cold cups of tea?

I was kinda expecting an open minded gathering ... if one has said he has to go .. .. presumably one of the others will defend him ....

Waste of time watching surely

They may as well just invite Starmer and Boris’s wife to give their views
