TiBB’s resident Lady GaGa stan. Over my time on TiBB there has been a trend of users who rise to prominence on the forum through their constant posting about a favourite pop star. Smithy follows this pattern, but has so much more to offer than just an obsession with music. “Smithy is one of the funniest people on the site; his blunt replies to people’s posts and threads are brilliant (so long as you aren’t on the receiving end of such a comment), he’s also a really caring person too.” He is “absolutely hilarious, knows how to own people in an argument easily and has a never ending supply of gifs ready for when he needs to use them. I really love speaking to him.” One member laments that they “never really had that much time for Smithy, as Smithy had no time for me. I can maybe sense a bond forming, if you will, between us.” Respect for Smithy is not confined to just that one user though, another noted that “he’s a prominent but underrated member on TiBB. He’s not to everyone’s taste but he does add a lot to the forum.” Members voted for him because “he’s witty and sometimes bitchy, he makes me laugh” and because “he’s really funny and he is my bitching buddy” in the words of two different users. The fact he is “a fellow GaGa fan” factored into the votes, but also so did the fact that “we have our ‘differences’ but at the same time we have many similarities.” One member concluded that they “don’t speak to Smithy as much as I used to but he’s still amazing. I love his sarcastic humour. The forum would be a duller place without him.”
