I was thinking about how the whole 'Sheezus' era could have been done differently had she of had more creative control. It was clear from her demos that she could have had an album matching 'INMIY' in terms of quality... My ideal tracklist (not including deluxe) probably would have been:
1. My Town (replacing Sheezus, could have been a great opener/same kind of message as Sheezus without the try-hardedness) 2. L8 Cmmr (good enough song as it stands) 3. Age of Beige (replacing Air Ballon, ironic really given how AoB is about dull music with no real meaning) 4. Our Time (Great song, could have performed better had it not of been for Air Ballon) 5. Insincerely Yours 6. Take My Place 7. I Was Born in the 80's (replacing As Long as I Got You, because did we really need a downgrade of Not Fair?) 8. Miss a Thing (replacing Close Your Eyes, it'd have to have work done but yeah, a great demo) 9. URL Badman (obviously wouldn't be going anywhere) 10. I Don't Mind Babe (replacing Silver Spoon, another which tragically wasn't included for this rubbish) 11. Stop Right There (replacing Life for Me which is nice enough but this is ultimately better) 12. Falling Over Myself (added another track bringing it up to 13, I know it was written and recorded for that Bridget Jones musical which never happened but with some lyrical tweeks it would have been a catchy edition) 13. Hard Out Here No idea what the album would be called instead... 'Miss a Thing' maybe? |
Don't come for Sliver Spoon
I like the playlist tho, but I didn't even mind Air Balloon either I liked it, it was only As Long As I Got You that was a bit meh I guess, she should of released Insincerely Yours instead |
Insincerely Yours would have been a great choice for sure.. HOH followed by Our Time, Insincerely Yours and URL Badman >>
Air Ballon is literally 3 minutes of nothingness though, how they could have followed the lead single (with it's really loud, strong message) with that I'll never know If only Age of Beige had been her comeback single :flutter: gives me strong INMIY vibes |

Hope this stuff gets released this year, also she deleted all of her posts off insta a few weeks ago as well hmm |
She needs to get a non-gross weave and give us new material.

She had a massive rant about grime music the other day and I couldn't have agreed more
Lily Allen has called Skepta, JME and Stormzy a 'direct threat to music industry figures'. Responding to an article by the Guardian about the lack of black British music talent represented in the BRITs shortlists, the pop star gave her theory as to why there is so little diversity and no recognition in this year's nominations. According to the Mirror, Allen wrote on her Facebook page: "The voting academy consists of 1000 music industry figures, and here lies the problem, music industry figures don't necessarily care about music, they mostly care about themselves, they vote tactically for their labels artists to win or so that their competitors at other labels DONT [sic]." She continued: "Awards mean £££ and promotions. I don't think music industry figures (or people that work at major labels) even look at artists as artists when it comes to voting for these things, the artists represent their teams their a+r people, managers, mds, pluggers etc." Speaking about Skepta, JME and Stormzy - all prominent figures in the rebirth of grime - she said: "[They] are all unsigned artists, who would gain from them winning anything? In fact them being nominated or even winning poses a direct threat to 'music industry figures'. Imagine Skepta or Stormzy won, who would they thank in their speeches, who's ego would get massaged?" Next album is either to be called The Fourth Wall or The 4th Wall
Hopefully the former |
The Fourth Wall, I hope this album delivers better than Sheezus (no shade)
