snowing here

Crimson Dynamo 17-11-2015 06:05 PM

85mph gust now recorded at Aberdaron in West Wales

Crimson Dynamo 19-11-2015 01:05 PM

First warning for snow issued this autumn

"A band of rain, sleet and snow will move south across northern and eastern Scotland later on Friday, then into the Borders and northeast England on Friday night. The snow will mainly affect high ground at first but will fall to lower levels on Friday night. 1-4 cm is likely at some lower levels but with 5-10 cm above 150 m, with drifting in the strong to gale force north or northwesterly winds. Indeed severe gales with gusts to 60 mph could bring a short period of blizzard conditions to the highest routes later Friday evening and overnight. The more persistent snow and strong winds will have cleared by Saturday morning but ice will be an additional hazard by then, particularly for higher level routes.

Please be aware of the likelihood of some difficult driving conditions and some travel disruption."

Lovely :flutter:

Crimson Dynamo 02-12-2015 12:41 PM

look high high my wee river rose this morning The sticks and debris mark the high point) due to snow melt. The big river burst its banks all over the shop and blocked the road into town (should be just about open now) so no post or bins done today. My dog walk was curtailed as the path I use is a fast flowing river at the mo too.

just made it into town, 2 stretches of the road still had fast flowing water over them for 20 meters or so and with flooded fields either side of the road its a little harum-scarum

then you would have hated my drive on monday night - cross country on wee rural roads that had frozen snow over them! By the time I got to my auction at 4 it was -1C and it was -4C when I left.

:fist: and now we have a gale warning for Friday

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Southwesterly gales or severe gales are expected to affect much of Scotland during the second half of Friday. The strongest winds will affect northern and western parts at first then reach the Central Belt and south later in the day.

Please be aware of difficult driving conditions with the risk of travel disruption on roads and to ferries. Winds may be strong enough to bring down branches or even uproot some trees due to saturated ground. A period of heavy rain will also affect much of Scotland, especially western areas.

Crimson Dynamo 05-12-2015 04:17 AM

been up since 1.30 dealing with water. back patio is under water and its coming in through French door. Also one downstairs cupboard has water on floor

managed to lift rug and electrical thinsga and mopped up and as of now its eased a bit (I have wood floors so its not so bad.

No let up in rain for at least 24 hours. God knows what my river will be like..

At first light I will go and inspect and bale out. I expect to be at this all day. I am knackered and my hands ache from the mop and wringing out towels that I am sealing the door with.

and more rain Monday
