Hopefully Viacom will look at why LI suceeded and won the ratings war.

MB. 14-07-2016 02:22 PM

It didn't, though

well it kind of did. Love island beat big brother most times..

Samm 14-07-2016 02:28 PM

I think it only beat BB in the ratings around five times, they shouldn't look to LI because it's even worse then BB it's only successful because it's a fresh new show

MB. 14-07-2016 02:30 PM

It beat BB on the odd occasion but BB is still well ahead in the averages

It didn't do well in ratings last year after they brought it back but it's successful because it was an amazing season this year and itv promoted the show.

LI was hardly amazing television it was just something to watch. BB17 has been better to watch.

probably last years but the show is well produced and this season has been amazing imo and it's been praised by the public as well hence why the ratings went up by loads that they hit 1 million(they didn't even reach that last year). BB17 has been good too reason why it's beating last years season in ratings.

Love Island produced a great series last year that was far better than BB16 and this year's was even better and they went all out on the promotion - the only reason it's on par with BB17 in terms of quality is because Big Brother's been good this year too.

But Love Island does Big Brother better than Big Brother does Big Brother

Will. 14-07-2016 03:08 PM

How did LI beat it in the ratings war.

LI beat BB like 5 times.

whilst BB beat it 30 times.

Big Brother had 1.36m (8.0%) including +1 last night.

It had a 33% 16-34 skew. Up on the standard 26-28% skew it was getting prior to Love Island ending.

Tonight? Another 1.4m?

Jake. 15-07-2016 08:55 AM

Big Brother: 1.27m (6.9%) excluding +1

That looks to be the 3rd consecutive 1.4m then with +1. Doing very well this week! Seems to me that this week has captured the public's attention. :clap1:

*mazedsalv** 15-07-2016 09:16 AM

Also interesting week by week averages throughout the series:

Week 1- 1.33m
Week 2- 1.16m
Week 3- 1.06m
Week 4- 1.02m
Week 5- 957k
Week 6 so far- 1.24m (assuming last night got 1.4m)

*mazedsalv** 15-07-2016 09:55 AM

Big Brother: 1.4m (7.6%) incl +1.

Third consecutive 1.4m rating :clap2:

Rob! 15-07-2016 10:32 AM

Why is it ending so soon

Jake. 15-07-2016 10:45 AM

So this is close to Frow's "magic number", then

crazycolaist 15-07-2016 04:58 PM

I'm saying LI won the ratings war because during the end it was a consistent rating beating big brother. Snm

Here's the updated table:

http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb17/ratings/overnight

And the official table (which is obviously 2 weeks behind), this last week in terms of officials should be impressive 1.7m+

http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb17/ratings/official

Jake. 16-07-2016 09:23 AM

C5 (exc. +1)
Big Brother: the Evictions: 1.07m (5.8%)

lewis111 16-07-2016 09:30 AM

Oh that's a bit of a drop :/ weird how the eviction was one of the lowest ratings of the week

*mazedsalv** 16-07-2016 09:32 AM

Odd... that'll be around 1.2m incl +1.

I knew it would be a bit down as I reckon that Celebrity First Dates shares some sort of audience with it.

Tbh next week I see it going back down to 1.1-1.2m anyway.

supertv247 16-07-2016 12:52 PM

I actually think it's only down slightly because it's a Friday. Fridays are starting to follow Saturday and are usually the second lowest rated episode of the week now. It's been that case for the last few series of BB/CBB because the younger audience is out, especially this week when the 16-25 demo was up a good 30% from love island viewers hoping over, wouldn't have been up that much last night as it was a Friday night. Nothing to worry about

I'm pretty sure Saturday has out rated Friday twice this series in consolidated ratings actually

crazycolaist 16-07-2016 02:26 PM

It was a decent Friday for weather that's why.

*mazedsalv** 18-07-2016 11:42 AM

Round up on last couple of ratings with +1:

Friday- 1.2m
Saturday- 870k

Broadcast hadn't posted last night's number but looks to be at around 1.1m including +1 judging by its excl +1 rating.
