Here for the Grace the Frog spin off

Underscore 02-12-2018 06:28 PM

weak episode

Marsh. 02-12-2018 06:29 PM

:(

Denver 02-12-2018 06:31 PM

Worst episode yet

Rob! 02-12-2018 06:40 PM

That was bizarre. Not Moffat returning and writing under a pseudonym.

The Flesh Moths were a genius idea though. Really creepy. Ribbons was good too.

Oliver_W 02-12-2018 06:43 PM

It was ... okay. She somehow seemed more "Doctorish" than she had in the rest of the season. Graham is still the best thing about it. Like a lot of episodes this year it feels like it should have just been 45 mins.

Oliver_W 02-12-2018 06:48 PM

I'm not surprised this was directed by Jamie Childs - despite the mediocre story it was the best directed and best looking.

Morgan. 02-12-2018 06:52 PM

Low-key enjoyed that

Marsh. 02-12-2018 06:52 PM

Doctor: Ryan will stay with yer!

Hanna: Oh! Not HIM!

Too right, love!

He's directed 4 episodes.

Nah. That honor still goes to The Tsuranga Conundrum.

Scarlett. 02-12-2018 09:48 PM

Pretty decent episode, felt kinda Moffat-y. I like that the episode seemed like it was going to be about a monster in the woods then changed into something completely different

Marsh. 02-12-2018 10:35 PM

Yeah, it was actually quite good.

If anything I appreciate the atmosphere an episode like this tends to create even if the story isn't perfect. The daughter was a good actress.

And it is nice to see all of the location filming this year, it really pays off well.

Just a shame the scripting is at an all time low. Although last weeks and this weeks were pretty good.

Braden 02-12-2018 10:47 PM

Well, that's another one I bloody enjoyed.

Make Doctor Who Great Again by Jodie Whittaker, Chris Chibnall & co.

Headie 02-12-2018 11:24 PM

The legend, ha return https://static.tvmaze.com/uploads/im...170/426088.jpg

Not long before she takes over from the Doctor and becomes the main character :clap1:

Marsh. 02-12-2018 11:44 PM

Not "Grace Who"

Or "Doctor Grace"

This.

I thought that the last couple of episodes had picked up in quality a bit, but this episode had a few confusing moments in it's writing that felt a bit like the writers didn't know what they were doing, especially during all of the Grace stuff.

Nicky91 03-12-2018 07:52 AM

great episode, i fully understand why people don't like the ryan character, he's so useless and here he said something completely stupid about the father just abandoning his daughter

next week Mark Addy (Hercules) guest role :clap1: :clap1:

What do you mean?

The Grace stuff was about the pocket universe keeping hold of humans by using their deceased loved ones as emotional blackmail.

Marsh. 03-12-2018 10:03 AM

The first episode I felt the character development blended seamlessly with the plot.

Graham and Grace, and even Ryan pushing his abandonmemt issues about his dad onto Hanne and her situation.

It's always shoehorned in elsewhere, but here it felt natural and earned.

I was going to say Whittaker seems to be finding her groove as the Doctor, but apparently this episode was filmed first so maybe she lost her energy as the shoot went on.

Either way, more proof that the show thrives when Chibnall is not on scripting duties. Hopefully he doesn't monopolise too many of the episodes of series 12.

But ... the father did just abandon the daughter :umm2:

Marsh. 03-12-2018 10:12 AM

Not Nicky defending the villain of the piece. :nono:

Marsh. 03-12-2018 10:15 AM

Oh and I did like the Woolly Rebellion gag.

"The sheep have gone... probably plotting" :joker:
