EastEnders, which clashed with Emmerdale for 15 minutes, averaged 7.04 million (30.7%), whereas Emmerdale had 5.62m (25.7%) for its own hour-long episode.
'During the quarter-hour clash period itself, they were neck-in-neck with 5.54m each.' 0.61m (4.4%) caught up with EastEnders at 10.30pm. |
In case anyone's interested, this Monday's equivalent episode 2005 had:
EastEnders: 13.43m (53.2%) Coronation Street: 13.64m (56.2%) and 11.71m (45.3%) |
Wow, how times have changed
|
Yup. EastEnders was riding high off Den's murder (otherwise it would've been more 11/12 million for that time of year) and Emmerdale was capable of well over 10m.
|
emmerdale should be everyone on this planet as i keep aying - best thing on tv.

Nope, neither this week or the last have scraped 8 million despite all the advertisement and promotion for Stacey's return. Mind, Corrie and Emmerdale are both performing quite shit at the minute.
|
Oh :/

4 March:
Emmerdale was ahead of EastEnders in Tuesday's ratings (March 4) but both soaps were dented by their latest scheduling clash, overnight figures show. Emmerdale's hour-long episode, which featured the tragic death of schoolgirl Gemma Andrews, averaged 6.19m (29.8%) from 7pm on ITV and 286k (1.3%) on +1. Losing out due to Emmerdale's head start, EastEnders attracted 5.56m (25.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Sharon wondered whether to report Ronnie's crime to the police. During the 30-minute clash period itself, Emmerdale was ahead of its BBC rival with 5.95m (27.3%). Later, BBC Three's repeat screening of EastEnders saw a boost with 652k (4.7%) watching at 10.30pm. |
sorry ya'll, it's been a while
Official Ratings (March 10th - March 16th) This includes catch up/on demand, sky+ recordings etc. Eastenders Monday: 8.12 Tuesday: 7.87 Thursday: 6.60 (Emmerdale Clash) Friday: 7.25 Coronation Street Monday First Half: 8.09 Monday Second Half: 7.81 Wednesday: 7.45 Friday First Half: 7.63 Friday Second Half: 7.20 Emmerdale Monday: 6.67 Tuesday: 6.06 Wednesday: 5.98 Thursday: 5.28 (EE clash) Friday: 5.92 Highest Rated: Coronation Street/Eastenders Lowest Rated: Emmerdale - That thursday episode rating... Special achievements: So Corrie and Eastenders is back to being neck and neck. Eastenders had a good week, now sitting comfortably on top of "The Voice" in ratings and slaughtering Emmerdale in the clash by almost 1.5 million viewers. It's quite weird seeing Corrie rate at 7million+ because it's constantly been 8 and 9 million, it's time for the weave to be stepped up because the storylines are getting quite ... boring. |
Monday 24 March Overnights
19.00 - Emmerdale: 6.7m (32.8%) 19.30 - Coronation Street: 8.4m (38.6%) 20.00 - EastEnders: 7.2m (31.9%) 20.30 - Coronation Street: 8m (34.4%) |
Last night's EastEnders had 7 million and a 33.1% share, followed by Emmerdale's 6.1m (30.6%).
|
The equivalent week so far in 2005, if anyone's interested...
19.00 - Emmerdale: 9.83m (45.9%) 19.30 - Coronation Street: 12.24m (54%) 20.00 - EastEnders: 10.78m (45.2%) 20.30 - Coronation Street: 11.42m (45.7%) Tuesday - EastEnders: 11 million (51%); Emmerdale, 9.4m (45%). |
I was looking at ratings from the past, emmerdale used to beat coronation street quite a lot
|
In raw figure or share? Certainly for the latter Emmerdale would often beat the second Corrie on a Monday night.
