I was able to change the setting to dub it.

Spoiler:

that was an interesting twist. Disturbing film though, I need to digest it for a bit. Such a hard one to have a proper opinion on though, there's many moral dilemmas stuck in there

Spoiler:

...it was very disturbing and why it’s a movie that’s quite hard to let go, we were still mentioning aspect of it and talking about it this morning....

Bollo 15-02-2021 10:34 PM

So I watched Fallen...
Spoiler:

It was a watchable enough movie and it kept my attention even though i kind of predicted the ending when he got to the cabin in the woods... I agree with Ammi, there was nothing to dislike, good characters well acted with a mix of supernatural/ drama/ mystery/detective and it was a fairly enjoyable movie but I've seen the same thing done much better in other movies... Angel Heart springs to mind...

Yeah I get what you mean there are ,of course exceptions and I haven't watched all of his movies, maybe only 15 or so? but the only one that i ever really enjoyed was Vanilla Sky which was a remake ...

...I googled his movies because I could only recall a few tbh...I was looking for some less smug/annoying characters..?....and there aren’t that many......obviously a few storylines haven’t allowed for that smugness because of the nature of the storyline and Vanilla Sky is probably one of those...and I recall thinking he was ok in Knight and Day and that it was really quite entertaining....strangely, both of those also had Cameron Diaz in them as well...

Vanessa 16-02-2021 06:27 AM

I love Tom Cruise, he's one of my favourite actors.
One that I like is Interview with the vampire.
It's just different from anything he's ever done.

...I know that I’ve seen that movie, Vanessa...but I somehow don’t recall very much about it...

Ah, it's really good !

Niamh. 16-02-2021 08:16 AM

Christian Slater is in that too (though not as much as Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise) I was a massive Christian Slater stan back in the day

Ammi 16-02-2021 10:34 AM

...if it’s showing on a none pay site, is Interview With the Vampire a movie anyone wants to watch, then..?..

Niamh. 16-02-2021 10:38 AM

I still have to finish Fallen and The Dead Zone

...yeah I put Dead Zone on hold and watched The Devil Next Door...I’ll get onto that soon, I think....with some stuff, it can take a little time for my thoughts to settle again, you know....plus I do have a small reluctance as it’s Stephen King so might be a bit gruesome...

No, The Dead Zone is not gruesome at all.
Don't worry

His films aren't usually gruesome although I did get a bit of a turn off him after finding out about that scene in IT (that they thankfully omitted from any of the films)

I love Stephen King. Most of the adaptations have been amazing.

Niamh. 16-02-2021 12:42 PM

Just finished Fallen

Spoiler:

Emm it was alright, it wasn't overly tense or exciting but I love Denzel so  Maybe It was my own fault for watching it in dribs and drabs as well. I was thinking he'd just find an animal in the end considering he'd transferred in to an animal before in it

Spoiler:

...I didn’t not enjoy it as such....I thought that the whole plot potential was good but it was just kind of ‘weak’ and didn’t give what it could have with the plot and also with the cast.../...a great cast ....I can see why it’s a Denzel film that’s lesser known...but it was far from awful or even bad...it just didn’t have the energy it could have had for me...

...it was described as a supernatural horror crime thriller movie, so maybe hadn’t quite decided itself which way to go so covered all bases...I would definitely say a touch of supernatural...horror..?...no, not really...crime...?..yeah, obviously there were crimes in that the hosts became the bodies that committed those murders and so their host life became a serial killer ..thriller...?..well not a huge amount of thrills and the ending reveal or twist was ...oh, okay then...for me...

...anyways, it still wasn’t a bad watch, though...it sounds as though it was but it wasn’t...it just didn’t provoke any thought or much emotion...the characters were likeable enough...(...I mean Denzel’s character and his family...)...but there was an absence of edge of the seat moments and nail biting/heart stopping moments...that’s it really, I’m waffling because I’m trying to pad out what to say and give some thoughts that aren’t really there very much because it’s an okay to spend a few hours on but forgettable movie...I can’t recall enough about Constantine storyline to feel it had shades of that but it may have had...

Yeah, that's exactly how I felt about it all too but I wasn't sure if it was because I watched it in bit and pieces rather than all at once

Bollo 16-02-2021 08:42 PM

So I watched Sucker Punch....
Spoiler:

Watching the first 10 minutes of this movie I thought I would really like it.The premise , the way it was shot and the music were very atmospheric... However when the labotomy is performed and then she's transported into a brothel, then into a fantasy world to 'escape her reality' it lost it for me. It just felt like what a bloke who is avidly into anime (Babydolls 'Sailor moon' outfit ?)and video games would dream up as a 'feminist revenge movie' but really is just a male fantasy film, ...Or maybe I'm missing something?
It's probably just me, I felt the same way when I watched Kill Bill. Although to be fair the graphics were great ...
