Almost finished.

Really fun and a great, straight-forward explanation to how the brain works and all the angst that comes along with it. Explores different concepts that are ultimately affected or caused by the brain and contains an array of mindfulness activities to help anyone feeling frazzled. Love Ruby and love this book.

You DIRTY LIAR!

BHE > CHH

CHH felt too predictable the only bit I didn’t guess was

Spoiler:

she was the daughter as well as the mother

I read lily allens autobiography last week too, (got through it in a day :skull:)

I really enjoyed it,

Just about to start You Let Me In

Niamh. 03-01-2019 07:47 PM

Just started Stephen Kings Sleeping Beauties

I'm reading Cabin at the End of the World, it's interesting but it feels a bit simple, if that makes sense.

Being an English student I don't think I have read a book that wasn't part of my course for 3 years... can't wait to finish in May so I can start reading for pleasure again.

Mythos, by Stephen Fry. It's an audio book but it still counts.

Livia 17-04-2019 09:55 AM

The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. It's the prequel to Practical Magic. I'm enjoying it, so far, 7/10.

Mystic Mock 12-09-2019 03:03 PM

Forces Of Nature.

I've only ever really completed reading Horrid Henry Books and The Rats by James Herbert in the past so I'm trying to add this book to my very tiny list of completed Books.

Away from that long winded explanation, I so far am enjoying this Book in a different kind of way to how I enjoy fictional storytelling, it was really fascinating to find out how Bees make their Beehives, tbh I'm not the brightest person in the world so I don't get all of the terminology, but it is a very clever and well written Book imo.

Technically a Comic Book, but I've read Batman Hush which I loved.

And now I'm gonna try out The Walking Dead and see if it's better than the TV Show.

Ammi 19-02-2020 11:51 AM

...Gaslight by Eloise Williams...I guess technically an older children’s book book but it’s very gripping/absorbing...

I read a chapter of Normal People on the bus to work, it's pretty decent although the unorthodox writing style is throwing me a bit.

Did you watch the TV show?

I just finished John Grisham's The Reckoning, I'd give it a 5/10

Spoiler:

It was well written but the story was pretty thin, the whole middle section of the book, the war story was totally unnecessary to the main story I thought, I'm not sure if it was there to somehow explain Pete Bannings mindset or to somehow justify what he did but it didn't work for me. Basically he murdered "the wrong guy", I have that in quotes because even if he was the right guy it doesn't in anyway justify him being murdered. pete murdered a guy who had an affair with his wife, which technically wasn't even an affair for her because pete's was presumed dead at the time, not only that he made her go crazy and had her committed.

The book was depressing as **** as well with no light at all in it

No, not yet. I'll finish the book first, it's only 200+ pages but I'm stretching it out a bit since I have nothing to read after it

I've spent a lot of lockdown reading.

I've discovered Teresa Driscoll and her thriller books are very good. Also Mark Edwards is another author I have enjoyed.

Just finished the Silent Patient by Alex Micaelides. Engaging with a good twist at the end

Tony Montana 24-06-2020 02:08 PM

Loads of comic books.
