also quite some arrogance from Dart saying that Pegula cannot ask for a challenge

:idc:

that was clearly in, so good on Jess for feeling confident with her shot

only her 2nd match on grass this year, this is just wow, clearly this long rest break since RG has done her legs good to get 100% fit

Broady becomes the 3rd brit into round 3

Denver 30-06-2022 04:06 PM

Draper wins today we will get atleast 1 man in the 4th round, Norrie also has the potential to go far

Nicky91 30-06-2022 04:11 PM

Boulter's win over Pliskova, well not very surprising, Pliskova is very beatable these days

Nicky91 30-06-2022 04:12 PM

Badosa and Kvitova for a round 3, i can see Petra winning that, i find Badosa extremely overrated, one of those unworthy of a top10 if you ask me in terms of inconsistency

Denver 30-06-2022 06:50 PM

Jack Draper hasn't taken the first set, he is the future of British Men's Tennis

MTVN 30-06-2022 07:23 PM

Some great games today. Pliskova didn't play well but can't take anything away from what a performance that was from Boulter especially after losing the first set

Pleased Halep got through as well, had to fight really hard to beat Flipkens

Denver 01-07-2022 01:52 PM

Heather Watson makes the 4th round of a Grand slam for the first time

MTVN 02-07-2022 11:40 AM

A game too far for Boulter really, I thought she might get taken apart if she ran into someone playing well. Tan looks a great player though, played really well against Serena as well

Swiatek being knocked out is pretty mad, makes it so open

Would love Halep to go far, played really well for most the game today but would need to cut out the errors against a better opponent

Emma Raducanu will be kicking herself now

Kyrgios is a legend

Mystic Mock 02-07-2022 08:54 PM

I hope that Norrie can win the men's half.

But realistically I feel like Djokovic is gonna win as he has the best track record on grass, although if I was to tip a dark horse I'd go for Alcaraz, he looks like a really good player.

Not to me. I think he's an bad tempered, bad mannered brat. :hee:

I'm really liking Harmony Tan's game. Her unconventional play seems to confuse her opponents. I hope she comes through tomorrow.

Me too…he needs to reign it in. His behaviour is disruptive to his opponent…maybe his intention…however it’s slightly entertaining albeit unacceptable.

Have to agree with that....what is the knob going to do next?
Did you see him throwing his open water bottle at the spot where Tsitsipas's sits between games and spitting at the crowd in an earlier match?

No we missed the first 2 sets….from what we saw and heard he was disruptive and seemed to have wound his opponent up to the point he became frustrated..then actually started playing some tennis. That’s why I judging from what the commentators were saying I saw his behaviour as deliberate. His opponent showed some unacceptable behaviour but I saw that as a result of his behaviour. He clearly needs to control his frustration…it’s really unsettling for the opponent and is perhaps deliberate and part of his game…uncalled for and unacceptable.

Its a tough one as part of me can't stand him, but the other part is waiting to see what he does next  He was shouting at his box and blaming them for stuff. He must be a nightmare to play against but his opponents should be professional enough to zone him out and ignore him. The more he sees it riles them, the more he ramps it up. Its not the behaviour for a major tournament, he even tried to have the umpire changed.

Harmony Tan the winner of the women's tournament

Cameron Norrie the winner of the men's tournament

woke wimbledon who cares

Why is it woke?

Nicky91 03-07-2022 07:40 AM

yesterday was a day of mixed results for me

Halep winning comfortably was good one

would've liked to see Pegula having her revenge moment on Martic but i knew Martic would win this, as more of a grass specialist vs someone who had zero grass prep whatsoever this year, understandable considering her mom's illness and everything, and i hope we can see Jessie shine again on hard court season next and for home crowds in washington and at US Open, 3rd round is still not bad here considering grass has never been her ground anyway, 2022 is still an amazing year for her of strong improvements, worthy top 10 star still if you ask me

as for who i can see being contenders now

wouldn't surprise me if we ended up

Cornet vs Martic

Halep vs Tan

Garcia vs Jabeur

Maria vs Niemeier

a very open women's tournament now, and i think no points to be earned has also something to do with many seeded players doing lesser well now, sad about those lower ranked they earn no points so basically will remain lower ranked even if they win

today Van Rijthoven vs Djokovic, omg i am soooo hoping for an upset here too but of course Novak is the heavy favourite here

Alcaraz and Sinner, hmm could be another tough one i think

good on Goffin being in round 4 as well, bit of a late blossomer this one

two dutchmen in round 4 is amazing :clap2:

Nicky91 03-07-2022 12:29 PM

whew, did not expect that win from Bouzkova over Garcia though

I cursed poor Alcaraz.:joker:

Seriously though the potential is there for him to be a star player in the future.

A shame about Watson getting knocked out, but tbf she did the best she could do so you can't ask for more than that.

And for me Norrie is having some really good matches this Wimbledon along with Nadal & Kyrgios for me.

I do like Djokovic normally, but his matches this Wimbledon have felt a bit flat so far for me, it's probably because he is so much better than his opponents that it stops feeling like a match.:joker:
